I walk away to look for my next class. I turn a corner and bump into someone.
Aaliyah: Sorry, sorry, sorry. I didn't look where I was going.
?: Oh it's ok, but I should be apologizing to you.
I look up to see the guy from my home room, Chad.
Aaliyah: Wait, you're the guy from home room. Chad, right?
Chad: Yep that's me and you must be the new girl
Aaliyah: Yep that's me. Aaliyah (put my hand out), Aaliyah Montez
Chad: Chad (grabs my hand to shake), Chad Dandforth
Aaliyah: It's nice to meet you
Chad: The pleasure is all mine (kisses my hand)
I start to blush like crazy.
Aaliyah: Can you help me find the gym, it's my free period and I'm trying out for cheer
Chad: Oh it's my free period too, I just about to head to gym for practice. So yeah, I'll show you. Follow me.
Aaliyah: Thank you
Chad: No problem
We start heading to the gym together, while we're heading there he's showing me around the school.
{locker room}
Chad: The girls locker room is just down hall and the cheer coach's office is across from it. You're good to go.
Aaliyah: Alright, thanks again Chad
Chad: No problem and good luck
Aaliyah: (smiles) thanks
Chad smiles and walks away. I walk down the hall and I see the cheer coach's office. I knock on the door and walk in.
Aaliyah: Hi, are you Coach Nova?
Coach Nova: Yes, I am. You must be Aaliyah Montez
Aaliyah: That would be me
Coach Nova: Ok, get changed and meet me in gym
Aaliyah: Yes ma'am
I walk out of Coach Nova's office to go change:

Aaliyah walks in the gym to see the basketball boys doing their own thing and see Coach Nova waving to her.
Aaliyah: Hi Coach Nova
Coach Nova: Hi Aaliyah, so this is the cheer team, cheer team this is Aaliyah
Cheer team: Heyy Aaliyah
Aaliyah: Heyy
Coach Nova: So, I'm going to let practice with them after your tryouts and I'll have my decision by the end of the day
Aaliyah: Ok, yes ma'am
Aaliyah asked one of cheerleaders to hook up their Bluetooth and play her routine song. I get in my position and signal to the cheerleaders to press play. "What U Workin' With?" starts to play. I start doing my routine.
The song plays for a while, then my favorite part comes and I start to show out.

The song and my routine is about come to halt. For the end, I do a back tuck, backhand spring into the splits.
After I got up, I didn't notice that everyone including the boys and their coach, looked shocked after what I did.
They all clapped and some of the boys whistled, I stood there smiling and I playfully bowed.
Coach Nova clapped and got up from her chair.
Coach Nova: Great job! That was amazing Aaliyah!
Aaliyah: Aww thank you
Coach Nova: Ok, now you are going to practice with girls. Before we do the girls are going show you the cheer
Aaliyah: Yes ma'am
The cheerleaders get up from the bleachers, I go over to the bleachers to watch the cheer. I watch the girls' feet, arms, and movement, I kind of start doing with them. The girls stopped and Coach Nova turned to me.
Coach Nova: That's the cheer. You ready?
Aaliyah: As I'll ever be
Coach Nova: Good luck
I walk over to the cheerleaders and start doing the cheer with them.
Cheer team and Aaliyah:
Wildcats sing along They really got it going on
Wildcats in the house Everybody sing out
Wildcats, everywhere wave your hands up in the air
That's the way we do it let's get to it Time to show the world
The cheer team and I do the cheer a couple more times. While we're doing the cheer, Coach Nova looks at me impressed that I'm doing the cheer effortlessly. The cheer team and I stopped and looked and Coach Nova.
Coach Nova: Aaliyah, you did excellent today. The cheer team and I will talk it over and we'll let you know by the end of the day
Aaliyah: Thank you and yes ma'am
I walked out of the gym, headed to the locker room, put my school clothes back on, head to my next class.
