The Night We Met

Third Person POV

Regulus walked out of the potions classroom as fast as he could, looking down, not wanting to draw attention to himself. He held his bag closer to his body and he made sure to avoid everyone else. They already made fun of him enough, he just wanted to get through at least this day without anyone saying anything to him.

He was tired and he simply wanted to climb into his four poster bed and sleep like there is no tomorrow. Knowing he couldn't do that made him quite upset, he still had to attend dinner and study for upcoming exams. But he couldn't bring himself to care and started to rush towards the entry to the Slytherin common room and dormitories.

Regulus accidentally slammed into someone really hard, knocking them both over. The slytherin looked up to see James Potter being helped up by none other than his older brother, Sirius black, and brushing himself off. Regulus assumed that the older boy would laugh and move on, probably thinking Regulus was an idiot who didn't watch where he was walking. Why he thought this, He doesn't know. James and him have plans to meet at the Astronomy tower that night, he'll talk with James then.

He scolded himself for not looking around to check if the coast was clear. Regulus cowered away when they started walking towards him. He Started to walk faster, away from them and The younger boy started to see the slytherin entrance for his grand escape. But, of course that
wouldn't happen.

"Regulus! Wait, please!" Sirius shouted after his retreating brother, following close behind him. He caught up to the slytherin and grabbed Regulus' shoulder, he whipped around and pushed Sirius' hand off of him.

"Stop touching me Sirius and stop acting like you actually care about me. We haven't even talked since you decided to leave, so leave me the fuck alone." The boy growled at his brother, glaring at him with a cold stare and he rushed away again making it into the safely of the Slytherin common room.

Barty came into the room soon after and tried to comfort Regulus but he knew it would do nothing, as the young boy liked to be left alone when feeling upset. Dinner came around and Evan, Barty, and Dorcas where all waiting for him to leave the boys' dorm room and head to dinner.

Barty sighed, getting irritated and just left the other two in the common room and rushed up the stairs to the room him and Evan shared with Reg.

"Regulus Arcturus Black, open this damned door before I open it myself and I would rather you open it, please." Barty added the last part quickly, worried about sounding too irritated and making Regulus even more upset.

The door was opened reluctantly by a very teary eyed Regulus. "Oh, honey" Barty said, holding his arms out, waiting for Regulus to fall into his arms in a hug. He burst into loud, heart-breaking sobs and fell into Barty's open arms and hugged him tightly, his arms wrapping around Barty's waist as Barty's arms came to hold him from his shoulders. "I've got you honey, you're safe with me." Regulus buried his face into Barty's neck and stayed there while being held by the other boy. Dorcas mumbled something before walking away, leaving the three alone.

Evan came up the stairs curiously and watched the two hug, happy that Regulus had someone to rely on. He cleared his throat carefully and watched as Reg slowly lifted his face to look at Evan.

Evan couldn't help but coo because of how cute Regulus looked in that moment, he looked so small and fragile. Evan wanted a turn to comfort the teary eyed boy.

At dinner, Sirius kept looking over to the Slytherin table. Trying to see if his brother was sitting there. He still wasn't.

"Sirius, leave it alone. Your brother is fine, eat your dinner." Remus said through taking bites of his own food. James was staring off into space, sitting across from Sirius. He wondered how Regulus was doing, the last time he saw him was a few days ago in Hogsmeade when they had a date. He'll have to check on him tonight when they meet at the Astronomy Tower. His back to the Slytherin table.
