Chapter-9
-Daniel
Leaving the room, I run down the hall as a distraction. The guards shout and both them and the doctors chase after me.
I take the next right, and then a left and run down the hall in front of me. I take another turn and lose them. I sneak into the nearest room and shut the door as they run past.
I'm in the scrub room, where the doctors usually change and get cleaned up. Perfect. I grab a pair of scrubs and quickly change. Then I put a mask on over my nose and mouth and walk out the door. I act casual, like I'm a doctor and stay clear of anyone who would find me suspicious.
I pick up speed, walking down the many halls to get back to Liv's room. When I get there, there's already doctors there. "She has no pulse!" One shouts. What?? She should still have one, I only unhooked the machince that read her pulse. I hear the sound of a defilibrator and the doctor shouts 'clear!' And again, 'clear' as he tries to jump start her heart. If she has no pulse..she's dead.. I watch through the crack in the door as her body arches up, and falls limply back down. It takes one last try until I can hear the sound of her beating heart again. Relief floods me and the doctors leave as they finish up.
I sneak into the room and lean over her. "I said pretend, not actually be dead," I whisper in her ear. I look her over and make sure she's alright. Quickly, I manipulate the machine to read that she's still has a pulse, because pretending she doesn't didn't work so well the first time. I place her on a gurney and tuck her in.
Beautiful gold eyes blink and look back up at me. Her vision must still be blurry because she doesn't recognize its me. "Its Daniel. Don't worry, I'm getting you out of here. Play dead. And don't actually die on me again." Her eyes blink again and they slowly close, her head rolling to the side as she goes out of consciousness again. I pull the sheet over her so it looks like I'm carrying away a dead body.
I quickly roll her out of the room, without being noticed and begin to roll her down the hall. Her hand moves and I can tell she's momentarily woken up. It starts to try and escape from under the blanket and pull it off, but I quickly smack it lightly so she'll stop. I roll her to the elevator and instead of hitting the morgue button, I hit the one to the parking deck. She goes still once more as the elevator moves down to the floor and comes to a quick stop. I roll her out, pushing faster and the automatic doors spring open. Shouts echo throughout the hall behind me, but I'm already out the door. I pick Liv up off the gurney and carry her out to the car. I lay her down in the front seat and buckle her, then close the door. I run to my side as the shouts get nearer and nearer.
The nurses and guards spring out the doors as soon as I drive off. I laugh a little to myself and speed off down the road. I use one arm to position Liv up more so she can rest her head on my shoulder comfortably. She momentarily squirms closer as she wakes up before passing out again. Whatever medicine they gave her, it must be doing a very good job at keeping her out.

-Liv
When I wake I'm in a car with Daniel, leaning on him as he drives. The pain from my wound returns and I ignore it the best I can. Its been hours, as the noon sky has hit. The clock says 3:30 p.m. Shit. I've been out for like 12 hours or so.
"Good morning sleepy head." Daniel glances down at me.
"Thirsty.." My thirst burns the back of my throat as a good distraction from my pain.
"I fed a little while ago. Here, drink." He leans over and snakes his arm around my waist. He pulls me closer and gives me better access to his neck. He pulls the car over at a food place and parks.
