After the reception, Maria was escorted to the beautifully decorated bedroom of Shazil. She took off her heavy bridal veil and wore her prayer scarf and begin offering her Isha salah. In a while Shazil too came in the room, and locked it. Seeing her praying, he decided to do something for the timebeing. He put his phone on charging, then he took off his sherwani and kept it on the table, now he was in his kurta pyjama. He took out the red jewellery case from his wardrobe, putting it on the table, he opened his laptop, and sat on the couch.
Concluding her prayers, Maria called out to her husband, "Suniye!" (Listen)
"Ji Maria?" (Yes) He responded turning towards her.
"Hame sath me Namaz e shukrana padhna chahiye." (We need to offer prayer of gratitude together.) She said to him softly.
"Oh yes, I forget about that. Wait for me, I will go and do ablution." He said gratefully, thanking her.
When Shazil went to washroom, Maria spread one more prayer rug next to hers, but it was little ahead from hers.
Shazil stepped out from the washroom, rolling down sleeves of his kurta. Fresh drops of water dribbling down his face, as he step on the prayer rug. Maria was standing behind him, as he lead the prayer. After completing their supplications, Shazil was getting up when Maria grabbed his hand and gestured him to dtay seated. He nodded, as she came and sat next to him and asked,"I can't find Quran paak in the shelve, I need to recite some Surahs."
"It might be in prayer room. I don't..." Shazil said bowing his head low. He was not a practising muslim nor do he recites Quran daily.
And as expected Maria got her answer in negative. But she being an islamic scholar was aware about of plenty of things, so now it was her duty to take her husband closer towards the deen and Allah.
"Give me your phone." She demanded and he pointed towards the switchboard where he has put his phone on charge. Nodding at him, she got the phone and typing something on Google, she started reciting Surah Mulk. It was her daily routine to start and end her day with remembrance of her lord.
Shazil was attentively listening the surah in her sweet voice. After finishing the recitation she blew on him and later on herself.
"Thank you." She gave him the phone, folding the prayer rugs.
"Maria!" Shazil called out her on her back.
"Jee?"Keeping the mats on their place, she turned back to him.
"Will you recite the Quran at night in your angelic voice daily for me." He requested, as she came near the couch.
"I recites Quran every night for my Allah and I will be blessed to have you by my side forever, while I utters his holy words."
"Thank you for coming in my life." He whispered, kissing her forehead and she blushed at his words.
"Shukr, Alhamdulillah! It was all his plans. May I be able to become the good spouse and give you enough care and affection, which is meant only for you. Shazil smiled at her words and uttered,"Ameen."
"Maria, pray for me that I give you the attention and love, which you deserve my little princess." He said, patting her cheeks and she nodded.
"Ab to little princess na bole, now we are equal."(Don't call me little princess.) She said putting her bridal veil over her head, as she sat on the bed. His lips twisted beautifully at her words,
"You're the first bride, who is not shying away from her groom." He stated, grabbing the velvet case he sat beside her.
"Who told you I am not feeling shy?" Maria whispered, her head bowed in the veil.
