Chapter 5: practice
-Bex p.o.v.-

I glared as lily pulled me down the stairs and into the common room. It was too early to be up. I grumbled curse words and a whole bunch of mean things under my breath as she pulled me to the great hall.

I sat at the Griffindor table and grabbed some toast. I continued mumbling about Hufflepuffs being too happy in the morning and no one should be that happy in the morning as I spread peanut butter on my toast. Taking a bite I glared down at the table.

"Why are you so angry?" Liam asked curiously as he sat next to me.

"Yeah, what's got you all grumpy?" James asked, he sat next to lily and tried to put an arm around her.

"Did some bloke mess with you?" Sirius asked from across the table. "I'll beat him up."

"Ask lily." I grumbled with a glare.

They all turned to her and looked at her expectantly. "She's just mad that I poured water on her when she didn't get up." Lily spoke simply.

I glared and took another vicious bite from my toast. The boys began to chuckle but stopped immediately after I shot them a glare.

"So lily flower," James started.

"No potter." Lily said and stood from her spot. She walked away and over to where Marlene and Alice were sitting with a few other girls.

"Better luck next time, mate." Sirius reached over and patted James on the shoulder.

James frowned but quickly turned it into a huge grin. "You wanna practice for the quidditch tryouts?"

"Yeah, you going seeker again? Or back to chaser?" Sirius asked.

"Seeker." James answered chewing on a slice of bacon.

"What do you mean?" I asked confused.

"I wanted to be the seeker but played as a chaser my second and third year because we already had a seeker, but last year I was seeker because the last one graduated." James explained simply.

I nodded and turned uninterestedly to shredding a pancake.

"You play?" Sirius asked.

I shrugged, but nodded when he continued to stare at me. "Yeah, I play."

"Really? You any good?" James asked surprised and suddenly very interested in me.

"I guess, I don't know." I shrugged. "I play but I hate it."

"You hate it? How do you play then?" James asked, Remus looked up from his book and listened to the conversation.

"Yeah, not really a fan, but I know a guy and he sorta forced me to start playing because he found out I was so good. He's the one that taught me to play, you know. Said I had natural talent." I spoke and glanced down at Liam.

Liam listened to the conversation with excitement in his eyes. He grinned up at me, his grin widened when he saw me look at him.

"Really? Are you going to try out for the team?" Sirius asked.

"Probably not." I answered.

"What?! Why?" James asked. "If you have talent you need to play, we need all of the help we can get. Four of our seven players last year; they graduated."

"I don't like it." I said.

"Come on, please try out." Sirius begged.

"Yeah please. It's only us two and the captain Gregory wood left." James spoke.
