Chapter 30: saved by him
-Bex p.o.v.-
Lily glanced back at me over her shoulder, checking to make sure I was still following her. "Bex, are you coming?" She called.
"Yeah." I replied, slowly making my way up these large stairways. I let out a huff and stopped at one, leaning on the railing. This is too much work. I'm tired. I thought to myself. I looked back up seeing Lily's back, she seemed to be getting taller and taller. "Lily? Why are you getting taller?"
She turned to face me and gasped. "Bex! Oh no! What was the spell, what was the spell!" She hurried back to me.
I looked down in confusion and saw that I was sinking into the stairs. "Woah!"
"You stepped on one of the trick steps! How do I fix this!" She ran a hand through her hair.
She pulled out her wand and just as she was about to say something I fell through. I let out a scream as I fell down all of the stories I had just walked up.
"Oh dear Merlin!" Remus shouted, seeing me fall. He leaned over his staircase railing and watched in horror.
James let out a gasp and murmured some curse words at the sight of me falling.
Sirius' eyes widened and he exclaimed "bloody hell!"
"Help!" I screamed out.
"She's going to hit the dungeon floor!" Someone hollered.
I looked down and noticed that I was in fact nearing the dungeon floor. I closed my eyes and awaited the pain that was sure to come.
But instead of pain, I felt strong arms. Instead of the cold flooring, I felt a warm chest. Instead of the grey stones, I saw icy blue eyes. Instead of walls, I saw black hair. Instead of landing on the floor, I landed in Andrew's arms.
I smiled at him brightly. "Thanks Blake."
He chuckled, "no problem, Dumbledore."
"You saved me!" I wrapped my arms around his neck, making myself a bit more comfortable in his arms.
"I didn't think you'd want to be in the hospital wing twice in one day. You already fell from sixty feet up, didn't think you'd want that again." He smirked.
"How did you know I was falling?" I asked.
"I'll always know when you're in trouble." He winked.
I giggled, "oh right," I nodded remembering his secret. It was nice being able to remember something. "How do I remember you?"
"We didn't talk earlier today." He replied and started walking. "They warned me that something might happen, said I needed to be sure you would remember me. It's important that you do."
"How so?" I asked curiously.
"I don't know, they don't tell me much about the future. Just things that are essential for me to know so that I can fix something." He shrugged slightly, still holding me in his arms.
"Bex!" James and Sirius ran down the stairs. Remus hurried behind them and Lily came down after.
"Who are you?" Sirius asked narrowing his eyes at Andrew.
"Guys this is Andrew. He's my friend." I smiled.
"Hello, I'm Andrew, Andrew Blake." He nodded in greeting.
"And you guys are friends?" Lily questioned looking at us.
"Yeah, we've been friends for a while, since before Halloween." I nodded with a smile.
"And you remember him?" Remus asked.
"Yeah," I replied.
"Why's he holding you?" James asked with a hard glare.
"Chill out Potter, I'm not trying to steal her heart or anything." Andrew rolled his eyes at James, "I just caught her, you know, saving her from falling once again."
"Thank you." Lily sighed in relief.
"No problem Lily, I was just about to take her on a walk, see what else she remembers, is that okay?" He asked.
"Uh, yeah, that's fine. Thanks again," she spoke unsure.
"Don't worry, I'll protect her. Nothing will go wrong. She will be brought back to the Gryffindor common room before lunch, safe and sound."
"Alright." Lily smiled, less unsure.
