Chapter 32: our spot
-Bex p.o.v.-

Andrew smiled and let out his deep chuckle I had grown so accustomed to hearing as he lead me back up to the castle. "C'mon, I want to show you something." He grinned and wrapped an arm around my shoulders.

"What?" I asked curiously as I followed him.

"Do you trust me?" He asked.

I narrowed my eyes in confusion, watching him curiously. "Of course. With my life."

"Don't question it, just go with it," he smirked. He grabbed my hand and started running.

I giggled and started after him, catching up and running in pace with him so he was no longer dragging me along. We ran in sync, I allowed him to pull me this way and that, all through the corridors and throughout the school.

"Stop! No running!" A scratchy, nasally voice called and loud thumps were heard from the man running after us.

Andrew sent a smirk over his shoulder at Argus. I giggled at the dreadful sight of Argus trying to run with Mrs. Norris in his arms. The poor cat was being squished to his chest and squeezed tighter each time that Argus' feet touched the ground. If he squeezed only a bit harder and closer to his chest the cats eyes would pop out of its sockets.

Andrew winked and pulled me down a stray corridor, getting us away from Argus. I giggled quietly into my hand, staring at Andrew.

He looked down at me, a large smile gracing his lips, showing off his white teeth and perfect smile. His eyes sparkled with mischief and joy, making him look so much more humanly, unlike his normal poised, graceful aura that made him look like a dark angel. His chest was puffing in and out, his breathing loud but at the same time soft and whispy, like the wind.

I looked at him in awe, not being able to stop myself from watching him act this way. Never, not since I've known him has he looked this wild and carefree. His calm, poised, graceful façade gone, disappeared; replaced with a new Andrew, one I wanted to see more of.

"What?" He asked, the smile not leaving, the deep breaths still coming, the look in his eyes staying in place.

I smiled softly, "nothing."

He looked at me curiously before peaking around the corner. "Let's go," he grinned, grabbing my hand again.

"The astronomy tower?" I questioned, glancing around us. "Why are we here?"

"Not the astronomy tower," he chuckled that deep, dark chuckle only he could pull off. "The roof."

He took me to the ledge, taking one last glance at me before stepping up onto the ledge. He smirked and sidestepped, disappearing from view.

I gasped and stuck my head out, searching for him. "Blake!" I called out, searching desperately for him.

"Hey Dumbledore," I heard the musical voice, amusement present. "Look up."

I frowned and looked up, "how did you get up there!" The black hair boy had his head poked over the edge, a smirk plastered on his face.

"Climb." He chuckled, "c'mon up, the breeze feels wonderful." He joked, talking about the nipping winds.

I rolled my eyes at him and climbed up onto the ledge. I couldn't help but look down, the grass was far away, the trees were in the distance, and the lake was a small speck, proving just how high up we were. I frowned, looking back at the stone wall, not bothered by the height of the building in the slightest bit, playing quidditch got rid of any fear of heights. "How did you climb up there?"

"Let me have your hand," his outstretched hand my only way up.

I gave it to him with no hesitation. Allowing him to pull me up easily, and sit on the roof next to him. "Woah!" I breathed out.

"It's amazing, isn't it," he smiled gazing out at the beautiful scenery.

"Beautiful." I murmured.

"You should see it at night, with the full moon lighting up the sky. That's my favorite," he informed me. "The sunset looks good too, but I don't think it compares to the night sky." He shrugged slightly, "but that's only my opinion."

After a moment of silence I spoke up, "can we just stay here forever?" I cocked my head, looking over at him. "It's so peaceful and wonderful. So much better than the mess my life turned into." I mumbled with a frown.

He frowned and placed an arm around me, pulling me close to his side. "You know you don't really mean that. You may think you do, but really, you would get bored. You would dream of adventure and fun. You couldn't just stay here forever. You'd miss everything too much."

"That's exactly what's holding me back from leaving." I looked down at my lap with a deep frown.

"You've thought of leaving?" His frown seemed to get wider and his eyes darkened.

"Yeah," I mumbled, looking away. My eyes scanned the horizon, I looked anywhere but at him.

"Dumbledore," he placed his fingers under my chin and forced me to look him in the eyes. "What do you mean? How long have you been thinking of leaving?"

"Since I saw how much of a burden I was to Lily and them. They hate how they basically have to take care of me, it's stupid, I'm ruining their lives."

His eyes searched mine, finally he sighed and looked down before looking back up into my eyes. "You aren't a burden. They just don't know how to handle it."

I shook my head, "they hate how much of a child I act like. Around them I just blank. I don't know anything, I ask stupid questions, I make messes, I cause trouble. And not the kind I usually make, the kind a toddler makes." A tear slipped down my face, "around you," I paused, searching for the right words. "It just feels right. I know what I'm doing, I know what everything is, I remember things, it's perfect." Another tear trailed after it, slipping down my face and splashing onto the rooftop.

Andrew turned his body to face me entirely. He grabbed my face in his hands, looking directly into my eyes, staring at me with so much emotion. "Now you listen to me," he commanded. "You are not a burden, you are amazing. You aren't going to remember everything right away, we all know that. We just want you to be safe and happy. It doesn't matter what you remember or not, as long as you're here, it's fine." He rubbed his thumb over my cheek, murmuring to me while wiping away the tears, "you shouldn't be crying, you're too beautiful to cry." He gave a small smile, "better?"

I couldn't help but nod, staring into his icy blue eyes that seemed to hypnotise me.

He leaned in, our foreheads connecting. "You don't have to be afraid, I'm here." His words made all of my sadness and pain evaporate, I couldn't help but believe him and fall deeper and deeper under his calming aura.

"Promise you'll never leave me? I don't know what I would do without you." I murmured to him.

"Promise." He smiled softly at me, "I won't leave you. Never." He lifted his head and placed a kiss on my forehead before pulling me into him and allowing me to rest on his shoulder like we did at the lake. My face buried in his neck and his head resting on the top of mine.

"Blake?"

"Yeah Dumbledore?" He asked quietly.

"If you tell anyone I cried I'll cut off your balls and throw them into the lake."

He chuckled, "your secrets safe with me."

Just before lunch Andrew took me back to my common room, just as he told Lily he would.

"Don't leave, when you go I'll be back in the dark." I pleaded with him, "please stay, I don't what to be lost and confused again. I like being able to remember with you."

"How about I come by and get you later tonight and we can watch the sunset from our spot," he suggested.

"Our spot?" I asked, a grin spreading across my face.

He shrugged, "well I figured that since you liked it so much, it could become our spot."

"That's very nice of you, Blake. I would like that very much!" I enveloped him in a hug, my arms folding around his waist.

"No problem." He chuckled and returned the hug.

I turned towards the portrait hole with a frown. "Umm, Blake? I don't remember my password."

He gave am a reassuring smile and nodded. "That's okay, nothing to be ashamed of." He looked at The Fat Lady, "are you able to tell us her password or let us in?"

"I'm sorry, I'm not allowed to let anyone in without a password." She spoke looking truly sorry.

"That's fine," he smiled at me. "We'll just wait out here until someone comes out."

We both sat down next to the portrait, waiting to be let in by someone else.

After a second of silence I broke it, "are we going to just sit here? It's boring."

He chuckled, "alright, let's talk."

"How long have you been like me?" I questioned him, the question coming out before my brain registered what I asked. "I mean- you don't have to--"

"It's fine." He interrupted my rambling, "you can ask," he gave a short chuckle. "Just like you, I've had my ability since birth."

"Really?" I asked with interest, "so we are pretty much the same?"

"To a certain extent."

"That's so cool."

"Somewhat." He shrugged, "some things can get annoying. It's very much like your situation. You can't be near people without some fear of hurting then. Rarely anyone understands the problems and you end up pushing away away."

I frowned, "that's why I like you so much. You understand."

"Exactly. We are perfect for each other, we understand each other and can be close, we have nothing to fear. We were made for each other." He said, staring into my eyes, emotion and truth rising.

"What do y-- oww!" I was cut off from my sentence by the pain in my right side.

"Oh Merlin!" Lily exclaimed. "I'm so sorry, Bex! I didn't know you were behind the portrait hole." She apologised and hurried to my side.

I gave a small groan at the pain. "I'm- fine." I managed to gasp out, the pain becoming too much.

Andrew put a hand on my side, right on my natural waist. Slowly the pain faded, my lungs took in a sharp breath. "Better?" He asked softly, his hands still there, still sending me waves of healing and pleasure.

"Much," I sighed.

"What did you do?" Sirius asked, eyeing Andrew's hands.

"I'm a Ravenclaw, I know stuff." He shrugged simply. I looked at him questioningly. He told me before he wasn't in Ravenclaw because he was brilliant in school, he was there because he had knowledge on his interests. As far as I knew he didn't enjoy the medical field, so it wasn't something he could learn in a healing book. What was it that he was interested in was the question, what he knew was what would lead to his abilities?

The others seemed to except his nonchalant answer, but I knew better. I just had to figure it out.

"What were you two doing out here?" James asked, breaking my train of thought.

"Umm, we were waiting for someone to let us in." I looked to Andrew for help.

"You can tell them." He nodded in encouragement. "They'll understand."

"Understand what?" Lily questioned looking at me then to Andrew and back to me.

I sighed in defeat and answered, "I couldn't remember the password so Blake stayed with me while we were waiting for someone to come out or go in."

"Oh Bex," she sympathized. "Don't worry, it'll come to you, you'll remember everything soon."

I nodded, "whatever."

"Ready for lunch?" She asked.

"Yeah, sure." I sat up with the help of Andrew. He stood and before I could try he lifted me up as if I were a doll and set me gently on my feet. "Thanks." I smiled at him, "see you later?"

"Yeah I'll come by to get you." He nodded. "Until then," he gave a nod and headed off.

"So what did you and Andrew do?" Lily asked as we made our way towards the great hall.

I held a hand on my side, a faint stinging still there from the door hitting me. "We talked and stuff. Went on a walk around the lake, ran from Filch, found a spot to watch the scenery." I explained to them with little detail, wanting to keep the experience all to myself.

"Sounds fun." She smiled, "he seems like a great guy."

"Yeah, he's amazing." I couldn't help the grin that slipped across my face at the thought of him.

"He's handsome too." She giggled and nudged me with her elbow a little.

I looked at her with wide eyes, "Lily! It's not like that!"

"Uh-huh," she rolled her eyes and giggled.

"You better not like him," James placed an arm around my shoulder, "you're mine."

I looked at him with frowned eyebrows, "I am?"

"Sure are, but that's another story for a different time. You'll remember soon." He smiled softly, "I'm willing to wait."

Lily's giggles stopped immediately, a frown replacing the goofy smile that had been looped across her face only seconds before.

I narrowed my eyes at the situation. Stopping in my tracks, I was overcome with flashbacks.

Sitting in the kitchen with the boys.

Forming a plan.

The video.

Telling a little boy.

Kissing in the boy's dorm.

Hogsmead.

Another boy, this one older and angrier.

Playing with kids.

Lily's jealousy.

A bar with my uncle.

I remembered what he was talking about. I remembered it all. Pretending to date James just to get Lily jealous and to admit her love for James.

I gasped.

"What?" Remus asked.

"I remember."

"You remember?" Sirius asked with a nervous glance at James.

"You remember?" James asked.

"I remember." I nodded at him, notifying him that I did in fact remember that we were fake dating and not really dating.

"You remember!" James exclaimed and threw his arms around my waist, lifting me up into a hug and spinning me around. He nuzzled his head into my neck, "I'm going to kiss you." He informed me, just barely above a whisper. I gave a slight nod, approving.

I giggled and wrapped my arms around his neck, bending my knees, fully reliant on him to hold me up.

He pulled back, staring into my eyes, slowly he began to lean in. Our lips met for only a second before Sirius caused a diversion to allow us to pull away. "Aahhh! My eyes! Too much PDA!" He covered his eyes and fell to his knees, pretending to die.

I giggled at him, "quit being such an idiot Sirius." James set me back on my feet and we all began to walk once more.

"So," Lily started. "How much do you like Andrew?"

"More than you can imagine." I smiled at her, ignoring the looks the boys were giving me.

"What's he like?" She asked, interested in the whole topic of Andrew Blake.

"He's graceful and calm, a relaxed figure. He poised and collected, organized and all-knowing. He's perfect." I explained Andrew in the words I gathered the first time I met him. I wanted to keep his other, more beautiful, side to myself. It was a secret, he was my secret.
