"hakkai! mitsuya! we're leaving!" yuzuha shouted from the front door.

"comiiiinnnngggg!" hakkai called out, and you heard footsteps approaching in rapid succession.

"mitsuya's here too?" you asked, glancing over at yuzuha.

you just arrived at her house, ready to walk over to the party someone from hakkai's gang was hosting. according to yuzuha, his name was pah, and his house was only a few blocks away from the shiba's.

"yeah. he wanted to walk over with us when he heard you were coming." she responded teasingly.

"he doesn't even know me." you rolled your eyes playfully, but you would be lying if you said you weren't flattered.

"he wants to though." yuzuha gave you a grin that made you laugh as the two guys got to the entrance.

even though the night was young, the sun had already set, leaving the street lights to illuminate the path to your destination. yuzuha and hakkai walked a few steps ahead of you, deliberately creating space so you could talk to mitsuya.

"i like your outfit." he said suddenly.

you turned to look at him, your eyebrows pulling together. there wasn't anything special about your outfit, pairing a mini skirt with a crop top.

you were wondering if he was just hitting on you when you remembered he was carrying clothes at school the day before. maybe he was into fashion?

regardless, he noticed the confused look on your face.

"i'm into designing clothes." he explained. "also, sorry i don't think i introduced myself yet. i'm mitsuya."

you nodded and told him your name in response, which he repeated back to you to make sure he was pronouncing it correctly.

"did you just move here? i haven't seen you around." he asked.

"yeah. i just moved with my mom." you replied.

"and she's cool with you going out and drinking with people you just met?" mitsuya said.

normally you'd be annoyed when people asked questions like that, but between the hint of concern in his voice and the look on his face, you knew it was coming from a place of empathy.

"she's never around to know." you shrugged.

"i see. i -" he started to say.

"taka-chan, we're here!" hakkai interrupted, stopping in front of a house.

looking at it closer, the name plate outside of it said "hayashida." it was probably the nicest house in the neighborhood, with a modern, western style, and there were also several different types of motorcycles parked out front.

just like that, your conversation with mitsuya ended, and your group headed inside.

"it's usually pretty chill here, and not a lot of outsiders are invited. i'm cool with hanging together the entire time too." yuzuha told you.

you let out a laugh.

"thank you, but you don't have to do that."

"it's not an inconvenience. i know how it is going to parties where you don't know anyone." she said, bringing a smile to your lips.

"but if you do end up talking to someone else, that's cool too." she added with a wink.

mitsuya opened the front door to the house, greeting you with loud house music that was playing. you and yuzuha exchanged a look, both of you smirking before heading in.
