I blink up at Ghost, startled by the question and not entirely sure how to answer it. I hesitate before answering, but considering the enormity of the situation and how bad I'd fucked up already, I decide on truth.
"I can... Or at least theoretically I can. The Siren wipe didn't work on you. Either that or I failed at performing it so completely. that I don't know if it'll be undone correctly." My voice is full of uncertainty and pain as I refuse to look at Ghost. Ashamed of my inability to fix the mess I had made and the pain I had caused.
I can feel his stare on me, his breathing catching as my words unsettle him. "Can we at least try?" He asks, and I can tell he is trying hard to not appear desperate. That alone upsets me further. I see that as proof that my latent abilities have taken a hold of him so strongly that even the mind wipe wouldn't work on him. He wants so badly to have everything returned to him, something I didn't even think was possible.
I swallow hard, knowing I have to honour his request to at least try and salvage the situation as much as I can. "You have to be prepared to view my siren form in its entirety for the undoing..." I hesitate blinking back the emotions threatening to stain my face. "We also need to go to the pool."
My eyes flicker towards Ghost briefly and I see the mask scrunching as he frowns in confusion, but all he says is a soft "Okay," whispered out as if afraid of startling me. As my eyes flicker away from him, he steps forward and cups my face turning me to look up at him fully. "Let's go," he murmurs. I look up at him balefully before wrenching my face from his grip and lead the way to the pool silently, refusing to acknowledge his presence.
As we approach the pool, I can feel the caustic chlorine beginning to burn my nose and I wrinkle my nose in disgust. I strip down to reveal my bare skin and leap into the pool in one smooth motion. While mid-jump, I begin the shift. The water glides across scales as black as onyx with poisonous green highlights across my body. When I surface my face is all wrong. My jaw is filled with jagged teeth, my nose no longer present to be replaced with gills. A siren tail can be seen below the surface of the pool, four feet long, the black and green visible beneath the water. I can feel the burn of the chlorine and know if we take too long I might begin losing body parts to the pool. I lift a webbed hand tipped with claws and gesture for Ghost to join me.
Ghost for his part looks captivated and in awe. He rips his mask off revealing a handsome face marred by the scars of his job. His short cropped hair shows signs of curling, but when he dives into the water, his strong body surfacing his hair has straightened out with the water.
As he surfaces, his eyes roam across my body appreciatively not intimidated by the horror before him.
As soon as Ghost is within reach, I snag him by the collar of his shirt and drag him under the surface. My siren form much stronger than my human one and I'm easily able to over power Ghost, pulling him closer to my body, my lips pressing against his as I force my magic into him. I hold him close, almost cradling him now as I find he does not resist against him. My magic lights him up from the insider, and it's like he can see into the very depths of my mind. He hears the most enchanting music he's ever listened to. The sound of the siren song coaxing the memories forth that I'd tried to lock up tight in the darkest corners of his mind. I keep holding him until he is struggling against me, desperate for air. It's only as I feel him becoming weaker in my grip that I let him go and the music stops.
