The next few days, I manage to avoid Ghost entirely. Between me actively avoiding him and Price keeping him busy, it was easy. Until one morning when I was coming out of my room at my usual early morning start and I find Ghost at the end if the hallway as I exit my room.

The only sign I've startled him is the ruffling of his wings, silent as always. "Ceri, I didn't expect to be seeing you up at this time."

I blink, slinging my exercise towel over my shoulder as I consider my answer, and then decide to go with the honest one. "I tend to prefer working out and preparing at this time of day. Don't have any men leering at my ass while I work out," my eyes roll in irritation while I speak before softening again. "Can't sleep?"

Despite himself, Ghosts irritation flares up, annoyed that anyone would dare look. I can see the way his eyes darken beneath his mask. Instead however he answer my question with a shake of his head. "No. Usually I struggle anyway, but tonight it's like everything is going double speed, like I'm still at work."

I hesitate before saying anything, unsure if I should offer to train with him or not. I give in. "Come on. You should come train. It'll give your mind a break. You look like you could use a break."

I can see the tell tale cogs working over time in his brain before he nods slowly. "Fine."

I smile inwardly at his reluctance and lead the way to the gym. I typically preferred the weights, but this time I decided something new. I put my towel and bottle down on the bench and stepped up into the ring.

"Come on Lieutenant, it's been a while since we sparred. How about you come show me why I prefer avoiding you for our CQC training sessions?"

He steps up into the ring smoothly, eyes showing his amusement. "Are you admitting I'm better than you?" He pauses for a moment, taking into consideration the proposal. "I'll take you up on it just to remind you whose the Alpha here," He grins widely and settles himself into position opposite me.

"Ghost, I'd be embarrassed if you weren't better than me. You're a Lieutenant for a reason." I sneer, my lip curling in disgust, "Alpha?" I scoff. "Now you just sound like those hybrid mutts."

Ghost freezes at my words, his eyes darkening in anger. "You didn't just...?" He growls, not even finishing the sentence. He can't tell whether to be impressed or disgusted at her taunting. "Care to repeat yourself?" His voice turning to a low growl.

"Gladly," I grin and lunge towards him. I duck at the last second as I sense his arm about to fly out and knock me in the head. I wrap an arm around his waist and launch myself up onto his back, holding in tightly, pinning his wings between us. I press my lips to the shell of Ghosts ear as I whisper, "You sound just like those hybrid mutts when you start talking about being an Alpha." I stay clinging on with a shot eat grin as I feel Ghosts body tense beneath me. His voice comes out hoarse when he speaks, not trying to fling me off just yet.

"Oh, and what do you know about Hybrids? You sound like you talk from personal experience?" I can hear thr smirk in his voice, even with the mask covering him, and his face away from me I can hear the amusement.

"Those mutts think they're so charming, cornering me when I'm all alone." I pause for a moment, letting the slightest hint of wicked undertones enter my voice. "Fortunately for me, I have a secret weapon." I slide down Ghosts back now that I've got him distracted and I kick the back of his locked in knee out sensing him stumbling and prance backwards out of reach from his much longer arms and legs.

I watch as he manages to catch himself before turning, eyes narrowed and locking in on me like the predator he is. Unfortunately he wasn't the only predator in the pond this morning, and yet he didn't seem to realise it just yet. He would soon. One corner of his mouth shifts the mask as he smiles ever so slightly. "Oh is that so?" His voice laced with arrogance, prowling around the ring watching me carefully. "What is it then? Your overwhelming feminine charm? Or do you have something more... interesting hidden beneath your skin?" He says gesturing towards my smaller lithe body clad only in a training bra, pants and the sweat covering my skin. Hook.

I blink up at him, doe eyed and innocent. "You might be surprised to find out how far feminine wiles can get a girl," I say gesturing at my body suggestively. The action draws his eyes across my body and I see the light of appreciation in them. Line. "But no, that's not it at all."

"Oh, do tell? You've piqued my interest now." Sinker.

I sidle closer while he's distracted eyeing my body, my own guard lowered as if I'd forgotten all about the sparring match my body relaxed. I give him a small charming, if somewhat innocent smile as his eye flicker back up guardedly. "The thing about me, Ghost," I murmur softly, almost intimately, my expression going soft and demure as I approach, looking shyly away, but never taking my eyes from him. "Is that I fight dirty as hell." On the last word, I launch my body up at Ghost, my arms and legs wrapping firmly around his body while I bury my face into his neck. My instincts taking over and I bite down hard into the flesh covered sparesly in soft downy feathers.

The groan Ghost gives as his body locks into place encourages me to bite down harder. Almost as if everything comes back all at once, Ghost is mumbling, "Don't," his voice is husky and I can feel him struggling to push at me, his hands feebly attempting to shove me from him. "Don't do that..."

I cling tighter, but my teeth release his skin, a soft teasing laugh falling from my lips. "Oh? But you sound like you're enjoying it though? Why should I stop now?"

This close, I can feel his heart speed up, the feeling sending a euphoria through me as I delight in the hunt. His voice is almost breathless as I continue to cling to him, my breath hot against the bitemarks I'd left in his skin. "I... Don't.. like.. it." He manages to say between deep gulping breaths of air. I let him push me away. "Don't do that again," He says almost sounding like himself again.

I prowl around him now, the hunter in control and I watch very carefully.
