Chapter 8
Elisa could see Tyler getting ready to turn; he had stripped off his shirt, was breathing deeply and had distanced himself from the rest of the group by about 50 yards. She could just imagine how painful it must be to make the transformation into a wolf, and this gave her some respect for Tyler. He turned around and spoke to Shane.
“Dude, I can’t turn unless I’m angry or in pain, like unimaginable pain. You need to do something!” Tyler pleaded. Shane just turned the gun over in his hands.
“I’m really not angry right now, and man, these plants are sharp, but they’re not that---”
Tyler was cut off as Shane aimed and fired a gun straight at his bare chest. The sound of shot was almost deafening, even Zach jumped. Tyler’s reaction to being shot was not unusual. He was stunned, as the red liquid exploded across his chest, his knees caved in and he feel to his hands and knees. Elisa’s automatic reaction upon seeing a 17 year old boy being shot in front of her was to help him, and her natural instinct took over. She took one step closer to Tyler until she felt herself run into an invisible barrier.
Shane pushed an outstretched arm in front of her and said firmly, “No don’t! I shot him so he would turn, not because he’s a complete jackass, well, maybe I shot him in the chest because he’s a Jackass. Anyway, he’s about to get really freaky so I would consider taking a few steps back.”
After being pulled back a few feet by Shane, Elisa noticed Tyler had begun to change. His eyes had taken on an eerie glow, his perfect white teeth had become perfect white fangs and those immaculately manicured nails had become claws. In the next few seconds, his regular human anatomy had completely changed into that of a huge wolf and it truly was a frightening sight. Anna gasped involuntarily behind her and Michael tightened his grip on his own gun.
They could tell this was going to be a very long evening.
It's so short, but writers block is not something one should overcome with extensive non-thinking. :)
