Chapter Four: The Symbiotes

*Time skip to the next evening from chapter three*

Eddie p.o.v.

I was heading over to Mrs. Chen's store to grab a couple of things, while Lu works tonight at the cafe she works at. When I went to the store and when got there, I headed to the section where I needed to grab the things. When I noticed someone following me around, pretending like she shopping when I started talking to her. Though, most people in the store think I'm talking to myself like a crazy person. "You know, I used to be a reporter. I was good at it too, my job required me to know how to follow people that didn't want to be followed, and learned to hide in plain sight. You have to know how to disappear, I was good at it. But, you....you suck." "Alright, my name is Dora Skirth. I need you and your friend's help, I work at the Life Foundation. "Oh, you do?" "Yes." "Well, good for you. We're done here." I said as I walked away from her to pay for my things, after paying I walked out of the store. "Mr. Brock, please, you have to listen. Everything that you and your partner accused of him, you were both right, he insane." "We both don't care anymore."  "Really? Because he got a lab full of poor people that has no idea, what they got themselves into, he using them like human guinea pigs and they are all dying...all of them." I turned around and faced her with some interest in this matter, "You saw this happen?" "Yes" "Come here for a second," I pull her to the side and ask her. "Why would we believe you?" "Because it's all true, I used to believe that he was doing good for the world to help all of mankind. But, he lied to me." "Go to the police, this is not mine or Lucy's concern. I'm keeping her out of this nonsense along with myself." "But, I can't go to the police. I'm scared of what might happen to my family. He a very dangerous man and a very powerful one at that." "We both know how dangerous he can be, because the very first time we met him for once. He got me and Lucy fired the very next day. I lost my reputation, and my relationship, I lost my home and I almost lost the very last person who loved me. And I'm not losing that, you know why? He ruined us, we are done. Now, if you say who you are, and you have the proof. Then you should be scared, very very scared." Just when I'm about to leave, she says "I am." "Then find someone else other than me or Lucy because I'm done with this." "Done with what?" "Done with saving everyone, if Lucy and her family are safe. That's all that matters to me right now, goodnight." I walked from her and headed back to the apartment, but decided to do some thinking first at the Golden Gate Bridge about what all just happened. After thinking this through, I decided to call Skirth and help her because knowing what Lu would say to me if she heard this, she would tell me to help and I would. I grabbed my phone from my pocket and made the call. 

*Time skip*

Skirth picked me up and brought me to the Life Foundation in her car. Once there, we made our way to the upstairs lab while she explained everything. "You know this all very interesting, but get to the part where he killing everyone," I said to her as we got on the elevator I got impatience. "Alright, Drake sent a rocket into space on a recon mission. But, on the way back to Earth. They found a comet, containing these substance-like things that I never seen before in my life." "Wait, a comet?" "Yes, the computers indicated that there is presence of life, million of them." I look at her confused, "Wait, hold on. When you say 'million of them', what do you mean by that?" "I'm saying, we brought back alien life form from another planet." Then I started imitating E.T. from the movie, "E.T. phone home, alien yeah." With a serious tone, she said "Yes, but we don't reference to them like that." The elevator opened and we got out as she still explained "We call them symbiotes." "Symbiotes?" "Yes. They can not survive on this planet without our help, Drake believes that the relationship between humans and symbiote is our key to survival. But not here on Earth." Then I asked her as we got close to the lab door, "So he trying to put us all in these symbiotes? So, we can survive in space?" "We call them hosts" "But, that's insane. That's nuts." I told her in shock and couldn't exactly believe this, "Yes. There's no protocol for this at all. He just feeding them in, if the host doesn't match exactly..." Then we both heard the guard come out of the elevator, Skirth then opened the door to the lab for me to go in while she distracted the guard. "Just go in and don't touch anything, now go. I will take care of him." I promise her I won't touch anything while I'm inside as the door closes behind me.
