It's doesn't take a genius to realize Magnolias upset. Daniel's cursing himself, trying to figure out what exactly he said. Coming up short, just like the rest of us.
She shut down right after he showed her where she could change, and hasn't been right since. Her little wolf Lana took full control. Which isn't unusual, but the fact we can barely sense Magnolia is.
My heart hurts to know she's sad. That we caused It somehow.
I feel my brother's anguish, the bond we share stronger now that magnolia is here. Our wolves itching to mate. To claim.
Turning towards him I notice Vex dangles on the edge of control, Daniel losing focus and letting him slip through. We wanted to wait to fully release our wolves around Magnolia and Lana.
She's been through so much, and as far as we can tell she's never interacted with other wolves before. Best to ease into it.
'What's wrong with mate?' Sinders rumbling voice asks.
'I'm not sure Sin. Don't worry, we'll make it better' I say. His need to comfort our mate pulling me down, trying to pull through to the front. 'Not yet' I push back, 'She needs time.'
'But it's mate.'
'Then do this for mate. Let her meet you when she's ready' his grumble of protest cutting short when he realizes he can do something for her. Even if it hurts a little to wait. 'In the meantime, why don't you talk to Lana. See what's wrong.' He nods and fades away.
My mind clearer with him occupied. The heavy weight of holding him back easing from my body, loosening a tense breath from my aching chest.
We all walk along, following close behind Lana. Her steps falter every few minutes, and I instinctively go to catch her. She flinches every time I get close, an apology in her eyes after she see's its me. The action causing the ach to settle and fester. My chest cracking with every passing second that she's upset.
The others just as affected if not more. Daniles eyes shift from hazel to light grey with Vex fighting for control. I fear he might have a chance.
So, we keep our distance. Hovering close by as Lana explores. Not a few minutes later does Sin come back, growling and snarling. My senses tingle and burn, his reaction setting my feet in stone.
'What is it?' I ask him between huffs. Our eyes snap to Daniel, causing Vex to shift into a defensive stance. Both wolves taking control of our bodies. It takes me and Daniel a few seconds to take back control.
Only then does Tank, or rather Seth approach us, looking between me and Daniel.
He jerks his head, gesturing to the small wolf huddling under a near by tree curling in on herself. Our little wolf.
We scared her. Again.
A small whimper leaves her throat as she sees us staring. Our wolves shutter and whine at the sound. They calm down for a split second before the yelling starts. Unintelligible words and snarls travel between the link until Tank gets pissed and slams some alpha power over us.
Our wolves going silent and still. The wave of power radiating our skin and bones, stiffening with a brutal pressure on us.
'Speak' is all tank says through the link. Aiming his demand at Sinder.
'Mate upset'
'Why?' Seth's voice eerily calm. Which is so much worse.
'She thinks she's ugly. That's she less than...' Sin pauses, trying to find the words. Only I can feel what he means and my heart shatters. She thinks we think she gross. 'And its all Daniels fault.'
