WOULD YOU LIKE A CUP OF TEA DEAR?

When evening falls
and we are at our leisure
we each indulge
in a simple pleasure
-
Of enjoying a nice cup of tea
and a friendly chat
in our chairs
where we are sat
-
Taking time to reflect
on the day gone by
we sip and exchange views
with the occasional sigh
-
Tea and sympathy
are in short supply today
as darkness descends
on this weary winter's day
-
War In Iraq
-
Each and every day we hear of this war
The bloodshed of people and it seems such a bore
Does anyone really care about the ones left to fight?
In this hideous exchange between wrong and right
-
They say it is for freedom that we make a stand
And I'm sure the US politicians will soon rape this land
For the oil is rich in this country of pain
And the Americans know very well what it will gain
-
Is there a point to all of this blood loss each day
Listening to the news I wish it would go away
But nothing is done about Mugabe's evil regime
Alas there is no oil in Zimbabwe or so it would seem
-
New leaders may prosper in this land when it's free
But nothing much will change for you and me
The citizen is told we must defeat this enemy in our mist
Or we will become the next target on the Taliban's list

Wall Of Silence

The mental challenge that faces humanity
Is to snap out of their alternate reality
As freedom becomes lost there is no choice
But to stand up and fight with one true voice

There is a wall of silence which fears to speak out
Where is the anger and the desire to shout?
Injustice is common place in our society of pain
Yet no response or action from our public,why do they refrain?
-
Brick by brick the wall hides our insecurities so clear
As we each begin to hide away from our worst fears
The government is creating this climate for us all
And nothing will ever stop until we tear down this wall

It's a crime to be outspoken and to make a stand
In this divided world and infested land
The wall is just a symbol which marks the division
Of our leaders corruption to fulfil their mission

World Cup
-
It's a tournament of fun,thrilling each and every nation
With excitement,expectation and emotional elation
Where a party will begin with entertainment and cheer
On this very special event in this World Cup year
-
The beautiful game will be expressed with absolute joy
Watched by millions worldwide,though some it will annoy
With the games being frequently shown on our tv
Arguments might develop as the family disagree
-
Africa is the continent which will stage this great event
Seen by the global audiences,it will be heaven sent
With a multicultural diversity,friendships will be made
Long after the memories of this World Cup begin to fade
-
Scoring goals and self expression are the name of the game
As new stars will be born and give rise to fame
The samba boys are favourites from the land of Brazil
Their entertaining style of play is always a thrill
