Chapter 9: Zenkai Unleashed

Six months had passed within the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, and the growth of everyone's abilities had been noticeable. Under Ruko's rigorous training regimen, both Escaro and Airil had elevated their power levels to match his. Their mastery of the Super Saiyan transformation had progressed significantly, allowing them to wield it with minimal strain on their Ki.

In a relentless sparring session at 20x gravity, Airil and Escaro teamed up against Ruko, recognizing his superior strength. Airil went for a series of punches and kicks, which Ruko effortlessly evaded. Then he unleashed a green blast that forced him to block.

Taking the opening, Escaro rushed Ruko, delivering another barrage of punches and kicks to Ruko. Meanwhile, Airil hung back, charging a potent attack. Locked in their intense one-on-one battle, Ruko failed to notice Airil.

With a sudden yell, Airil fired a fully charged Kamehameha, barely passing by Escaro's head and colliding with Ruko, catching him off guard that sent him flying. However, he halted his momentum before going too far.

Without warning, Ruko retaliated by launching a massive Ki ball towards them, accompanied by a barrage of smaller Ki blasts aimed directly at Airil and Escaro. As they focused on dodging the bigger blast, they had to quickly shoot the smaller ones. The resulting explosions quickly engulfed the two in a cloud of black smoke.

Airil was the first to emerge, swiftly sending a kick at Ruko. The resulting shockwave blew the smoke cloud away, revealing Escaro who had her arms stretched in opposite directions, with a ball of Ki in either hand.

Ruko responded by also charging a green Ki blast in both hands, stretching his arms in opposite directions. Lightning crackled as the energy balls expanded, sending lightning bolts toward Airil and Escaro. Then suddenly, Ruko transformed into a green-haired Super Saiyan.

In response, Airil and Escaro ascended into their Super Saiyan forms.

"Kame!" Airil shouted as a blue orb of light formed in his hands.

Escaro, charging her attack further, combined the two yellow Ki orbs into a single, larger orb.

"Ha! Me!" Airil yelled as his Ki ball expanded exponentially.

Lightning surrounded Escaro as she intensified her attack, causing the Ki ball to grow even larger.

Ruko responded by also merging his two green Ki orbs.

"Ha!"

"Final Flash!"

"Eraser Cannon!"

All three warriors yelled simultaneously, releasing their respective Ki blasts toward each other. The beams locked in place, their centers unmoving. Powering up further, Ruko pushed the combined beams back toward Airil and Escaro, who struggled to resist. With one last surge of power, Ruko overwhelmed them, allowing the beam to consume them briefly before exploding in the air. Despite the intense explosion, Airil and Escaro remained in their Super Saiyan forms.

Ruko swiftly came up to them and smacked them into the ground, knocking them out of Super Saiyan.

"That was a good fight, you two," Ruko complimented as he dropped out of his own Super Saiyan form and picked them up. "But we're going to need to get a lot stronger if we want to stand any chance against Hale."

Flying to the only other object in the void, Ruko set them down and retrieved a few Senzu they decided to plant and grow, which were now hefty vines, producing a Senzu every month. He gave the Senzu to Airil and Escaro, who chewed on the magical beans, regaining their strength completely.

"Luckily, the Saiyan body has a neat trick when it comes to fighting," Ruko explained.

"What's that?" Escaro asked, sitting up and crossing her legs.

"The Zenkai Boost," Ruko proudly proclaimed.

"The what?" Airil inquired.

"When a Saiyan experiences a near-death experience, their power gets a hefty boost upon regaining their strength," Ruko elucidated.

"I see," Airil said, pondering the concept.

"Do you?" Ruko pointed a few fingers at Airil, firing a tiny blast that nearly killed him. Airil hit the ground hard, coughing up blood and looking at Ruko with a mixture of hatred and surprise.

"What the hell was that for!" Escaro yelled at Ruko, visibly angered. "You could've killed him!"

Ruko nonchalantly passed her another Senzu. "Then give this to him before he does."

Escaro rushed to Airil, placing the Senzu in his mouth. He quickly chewed it up and swallowed it, immediately feeling the power boost Ruko was talking about. He looked over at Ruko, who just looked back at him and smiled.
