[Y/N] POV-

It's a few weeks before Christmas which meant it was also very busy at the fire house. This meant that dad was doing more shifts during the week and even the weekends, this also meant that he didn't have much time for me and that I spent most of the weekdays with aunt Maddy instead of at home with dad. I miss him a lot but at least he had a few days after Halloween to celebrate my birthday together, which I was grateful for.

Today aunt Maddy was taking me to the fire station to pop in and see the team as she knew how much I was missing my dad during the last few weeks. I couldn't wait to see dad again and tell him all about the Christmas nativity that's going on at school soon and I was chosen to play the angle which I was really happy about. Once we got there, I smiled so brightly as I jumped out of the car then ran into the station shouting out to dad.

Dad, Eddie and Hen were all sorting out the equipment on the fire truck when I came running in catching their attention, a big smile slipped onto dad's face when he saw me then looked behind me he saw aunt Maddy. He picked me up when I was close enough and hugged me tightly, so did I as I wrapped my legs around his waist as he put an arm underneath me for support. I was so happy to finally see him after weeks of not seeing him, him and Maddy were the only family I knew so I missed him so much.

Maddy)"Awe, she's really missed you Evan."

Eddie)"What do you mean Maddy? Doesn't [Y/N] live with Buck?"

Dad)"Actually..."

Dad turned to look at Hen and Eddie a little nervous because of the looks he was getting from them before explaining that because of how many shifts he was having to do over the last few weeks he hadn't had time to spend time with me much, which meant I was staying most days at aunt Maddy's. All while this was going on I closed my eyes drifting off to sleep, I didn't sleep very well at aunt Maddy's because it was unfamiliar with her new place and all. Also, it didn't have the feeling of home or dad wasn't there.

3rd POV-

Chimney)"Um ... Buck?

Buck looked over at Chimney that had now joined in with their conversation to gesture to [Y/N] that Buck was still holding that she had fell asleep, at this Maddy looked and smiled softly at the sight of her sleeping niece. Maddy looked at her brother again and told him that [Y/N] hadn't been sleeping well at her play because it was new and that it was an unfamiliar place, this made Buck feel even worse than he already does. Every time he got home after his shifts he would always go to check in on [Y/N] but then remember that she was at Maddy's when he was staring into her empty room.

Buck)"Am I a bad parent? I feel so horrible for not being there for her when she's probably needed me."

Eddie)"You aren't a bad parent, Buck. You feeling the way you do is proof that you're actually a really good parent and doing things right."

Hen)"Yeah Buck. Parenting is hard, especially with our job. That really bad feeling shows you care about [Y/N] with everything you have, it sucks but it's a good thing."

The others reassured him, which helped make him feel slightly better. Buck smiled at his friends and teammates before taking [Y/N] upstairs then laying her on one of the sofas with her head on his lap, once Cap saw this when he came out of his office he smiled before asking why she was at the firehouse for, after explaining he understood and left them be.

It was then that in the normally warm city of LA, that it started to snow for the first time in December. It was a Christmas miracle, one that made that small father-daughter moment just a little bit more special.
