It was the spooky season of Halloween, and it so happens to be the busiest time of year apart from charismas that is, so the fire station was flooded with calls all throughout the day because of this [Y/N]'s spent most of her time at her aunt Maddy's place as Buck's shifts was longer which left [Y/N] alone at home more. The [H/C] haired girl didn't mind spending more time with her aunt, but she did miss seeing her dad everyday so she and Maddy decided to surprise him on Halloween at the station, they went into town and brought her a costume then made all the treats for the crew members.
Now it was Halloween day, and the little girl was more hyper than ever as she bounced down the stairs with a big smile on her face before walking into the kitchen where Maddy was sat drinking a coffee on her phone, the brunette woman smiled at her niece glad to see her in high spirits more than she usually was but then she remembered that today was Halloween and that she promised to take her to see her father at the station, once they both had breakfast they went upstairs to get ready for the day.
Buck was one of his 24-hour shifts again which he normally wouldn't mind but because of his shifts recently he hadn't had time to see [Y/N] and when he did she was already fast asleep once he got home, the others could tell something was bothering the normally high-spirited Buck but though it could be because he was tired from the shifts lately, so they left him to brood by himself. However, Cap have had enough of Bucks mopping so he took it into his own hands and once they got back form a call, he pulled him to the side to ask what was going on to which Buck told him that he was only missing his daughter is all.
Hearing this made Cap give him an understanding look as he too always felt down on Halloween as it reminded him of his past family, so the day went on like normal with calls every so often and eventually it was the evening when everything calms down alittle so the crew could wind down a bit, taking the chance Buck pulled out his phone then rang [Y/N] and eventually she picked up happily answering which made a smile to finally appear on his face.
"Hi daddy! How has your shift been so far?"
Buck)"It's been the same, ya know how it gets around Halloween. I'm sorry I can't take you out trick-or-treating this your sweetheart."
"It's fine, really, aunt Maddy and I are going together"
As the father and daughter talked on the phone Buck lent his back against the railing on the top floor of the station but what he didn't notice was Maddy's car pull up outside of the station, Maddy and [Y/N] got out of the car then quietly made their way into the station which Hen and Eddie had noticed before anyone else with smiles coming to their faces at [Y/N]'s costume choice for Halloween.
Buck)"Still, I wish I could have gone with you. I've really missed you Kitten."
"I have too, daddy. But if you turned around, you would see that I may not be as far away as you think."
Hanging up on her father which left him slightly confused at his daughters' words but turned around either way his eyes widened at the sight of his daughter and sister on the ground floor of the station, although, when he took notice of [Y/N]'s costume choice he couldn't help but let a big smile onto his face before rushing down the stairs to hug her even lifting her off the ground alittle which she then followed with wrapping her legs around his waist hugging her father back.
The team and Maddy watched this touching moment with smiles, once [Y/N]'s feet hit the floor again she bounced on her feet as she grabbed Bucks hand as she happily showed him all the teats her and Maddy had made the day before also all the sweets she had gotten earlier in the day, Buck happily chatted with her just glad that he got to see her finally after days.
For the rest of the evening the team watched scary movies and ate the treats that Maddy and [Y/N] had made for them, [Y/N] was all snuggled up in between her aunt and father laughing at the jump scares along with the team's reactions but eventually she fell asleep just past 10 o'clock at night, Buck just let her sleep as he gently stoked his fingers through her hair and the team all saw how much this meant to him also that he was much happier now once he saw [Y/N].
It was then they all realized that [Y/N] was what was keeping Buck together through this job they do and if anything, ever happened to her then he would turn into a reck, 20 minutes later a call came in startling [Y/N] awake which Buck calmed her down before kissing her forehead then told her goodnight as Maddy was taking her home as it was getting late, the sleepy [H/C] only smiled then wave them all off before getting back into the car to go home.
