Marina was told to go to a ball with a boy she completely despised. How wrong was that ?? She was even considering marrying him. " I can't believe it .
" Put your posture up . Stop doing it wrong .If it wasn't for your father you wouldn't be here , " she scolded, wrinkling her nose in disgust .
In an instant, Marina couldn't take it anymore .She snapped , her face going into a disgusting frown, "Stop blaming Dad if you were just a bit responsible Eteria wouldn't have been in debt. What kind of mother are you? You never seem to be happy with me. You seem to hate me. I don't even know what to do with this ball. " Her mother looked taken aback. Then, regained her composure. " Marina, you are a princess; anybody would die to be in your place. The least you can do is marry a rich prince. We're already the poorest royals among queens and kings. As an act of kindness, you could repaint your room instead of keeping it that ugly blue hue. Marina, please do it for me, it for your dad.. I lost him when he died .. we both died " bellowed her mother though the last words sounded as if she was pleading.
She couldn't believe her ears . Even the maid was utterly shocked, almost dropping the clothes she was carrying . How arrogant could her mother be? She left without saying anything holding back her tears. As soon as she arrived, she gazed at the window remembering all the adventures she went on with her dad who told her stories from all over the world like the beautiful Savannah plains in East Africa to the wonderful cherry blossom trees in Edo ( Japan) .
Her room was a piece of her, the only place she actually felt accepted . The bright red windows were like portals to another world . Her room also reminded her of the way she got her name Marina, meaning from the sea. As a kid , she loved her room with it being vast as an ocean with walls painted in a deep blue hue which her mother hated and her cherry blossom lamps that emanated from her room in an amazing magenta pink hue . What’s more is that she had a seashell covered mirror frame to go with the sea decor with a wall that was imprinted with sea corals and seashells. Now , it just reminded her that her dreams couldn't come true just because she was a royal. Her eyes started to become puffy.
