24 | Luke & Maddie

Maddie's P.O.V:

"Kayli, can you pass me my eyeliner?" I asked, sitting on the bed. She nodded, picking it up and giving it to me. "Thank you"

"What time are Luke and Calum getting here?"

"Around 6:30 I think. Prom starts at 7"

"Ok good, we've got three quarters of an hour left to get ready. I need to start doing my make up" I rolled my eyes, finishing applying my concealer before quickly putting some mascara on my bottom lashes. "Is that all the make up you're wearing?"

"Um, yeah. I don't really like make up" She shrugged before starting to apply her own. I grabbed my curling iron and plugged it in starting to curl my hair. When I was done I took the front sections and twisted them, securing them at the back of my head. I looked over at my door seeing my dress hung up in the back of it. I took off the over-sized top I'd been wearing. Correction: Luke's top. I carefully took my dress off the hanger and unzipped the back. I stepped into it and pulled it up, putting it on properly. "Kayli, can you zip me up please?" She nodded, getting up after putting her blusher brush down. She zipped up the back before turning me around.

"Maddie, you look amazing" She said and I smiled.

"Thank you" Kayli was nearly done with her make up. She wasn't wearing much make up either yet still a lot more than me. I grabbed my jewelery, putting in my silver hoop earrings as well as my plain silver studs for my second piercing. I then put my bracelets, rings and the necklace that Luke gave me on. I put on my shoes before grabbing my clutch off the bed next to me. I shoved some money, lip balm and my ticket in it. I stood up grabbing my clutch and going over to the mirror. "OK, I'm ready" I said. I turned to see Kayli just grabbing her dress. She did her hair whilst I did my make up and vice versa. After she'd put her dress on she sorted out her bag and put her shoes on. I looked at the time seeing 30 minutes had passed. We had 15 minutes till the boys got here.

"Shall we go downstairs? My mum will want pictures of us" I told/asked Kayli and she nodded. We checked we had everything before carefully walking down the stairs. We got down there to see my mum, Kayli's mum and dad, Liz, Andy, David and Joy. I'd forgotten Luke and Calum's parents were coming earlier. They wanted to be here ready for pictures

"Girls, you look amazing" My mum said. "We'll wait until the boys get here then we'll go outside for photos. The lighting's better out there" We nodded and went into the kitchen to get a drink.

"Are you nervous?" Kayli asked as we stood at the island.

"A little, but I know it's just Luke, he's my best friend. Kayli, it's Calum"

"But what if he doesn't like how I look"

"Kayli, stop worrying. Cal will love you. I've never seen him like he is around you with any other girl"

"Maddie, Kayli. Luke and Calum just pulled up" Kayli's mum shouted. We grabbed our bags off the worktop before walking through to hallway. Everyone had already gone outside. Luke and Calum were already being bombarded with photos by Liz and Joy. Kayli and I walked out the door and onto the porch. I watched as Luke's eyes diverted from the camera to us. He nudged Calum and gestured for him to follow. We walked down the path to meet them half way.

"Wow. You look so beautiful" Luke said once he was stood in front of me. I felt myself blush at his comment.

"Thank you. You look pretty handsome yourself"

"Thanks" He said. "This is for you" He held out the corsage in his right hand. I opened the clear box and took out the corsage.

"Luke, thank you. It's so pretty" He put the box on the ground before helping to put the corsage on my wrist.
