28 | Maddie

I heard the bell ring letting me know another customer had just entered. I turned around from talking to Mason to see Luke walking into the small cafe. I lifted myself over the counter and went to hug Luke.

"Hey, Mads, how's work?"

"It's a slow day" Was all I replied as I released myself from the hug and kissed his cheek.

"You guys are so cute. I'm so glad you finally got together" Mason said and we both turned to face him.

"Hey, man, what's up?" Luke said, going round the counter to Mason. They'd always got on well. Mason was one of the only people who knew about Luke and I for a long time.

"Nothing much" Mason responded. "So, how are things going with you two?"

"Good, very good actually" Luke said, kissing my forehead as I stood beside him. "How's Myler?"

"Oh for fucks sake, not you too!"

"It's a cute ship name" I told him.

"So's Laddie but do you see me calling you two by it?" He paused. "Exactly, no"

"You're just jealous of our cuteness" Maddie said and Mason jokingly rolled his eyes.

"Anyway, we need to get going"

"OK, I'll see you next week, Mase"

"See you next week, Mads, bye, Luke" He wrapped his arm around my shoulders as we left the cafe.

"OK, so, my mum said my brothers are coming at around five it's three thirty now, so we've got plenty of time"

"Can we go to my house first? I need to get changed first" He nodded as we got into his truck.

"Ben and Jack are excited to see you. They want to meet you as my girlfriend" Luke said, taking my hand in his.

"I feel like I haven't seen them in ages"

"I was gonna sat they might be weird but they've always thought we were together anyway. I doubt they'll be any different"

"What about Celeste? Is she still coming?"

"As far as I know, yes" He said. Soon enough we pulled up at my house.

We went up to my room quickly and Luke lead on the bed whilst I grabbed my clothes I'd hung behind the door and started to change. Just as I finished taking my top off I felt arms wrap around my waist. I looked in the mirror to see Luke. His lips connected with my neck as he trailed kisses from my neck to my collarbone.

"God, you're beautiful"

"Thank you, you're pretty handsome yourself" I told him, turning around in his arms. He smirked before leaning down to kiss me. I wrapped my arms around his neck, deepening the kiss. He grabbed my thighs and I jumped up, wrapping my legs around his waist. He carried me back, landing on the bed, him on top of me. He ran his hands along my sides and thighs, caressing them gently. I felt his hands go round to my back, grasping my bra clasp.

"Sorry to ruin the moment but do we really have time for this right now?" I said, glancing over at the clock. It read 4:23.

"Fuck, we've got to get going" Luke said, climbing off the bed so I could get up. I quickly pulled off my skirt and tights and replaced them with my black skinny jeans. I pulled my top over my head and quickly sprayed some body spray. I brushed my hair, letting my day old waves hang on my shoulders.

"OK, lets go" I told Luke. I quickly grabbed my phone and keys along with some money, shoving it all in my pockets before leaving my house.

"Maddie!" Ben said, coming up to me and hugging me.

"Hey, it's been so long"

"So, you and Luke are together now then" He said, nudging me and raising his eyebrows like Luke does except half the speed.

"Um, yeah, we are"

"I'm so glad he finally grew some balls and told you he liked you. The amount of advice Jack and I gave to that boy" We both looked over to see Luke stood talking to Jack. I saw Celeste come over and Ben went to join his brothers.

"I knew you and Luke would get together someday. It was bound to happen" She said as she stood by me. "You know, even though you guys have always been friends and you've been in his life for so long, I've never seen him so happy"

"I know how he feels. I've known him almost half my life yet he's never made me as happy as I am now"

"You guys remind me of when Jack and I first got together and not just because your boyfriend is slowly morphing into mine" We both laughed, slightly before Liz came into the room.

"Alright guys, dinner time" She led us into the dining room and we all sat down at the table. Luke and Be sat opposite whilst Jack, Celeste and I sat along the other side with Andy and Liz at either end.

"It's so good to have you all here. It feels like years since we all sat down together. And even better with Maddie joining us more often now" Liz said before giving me a smile. "OK, dig in"

"I thought you might be out here" I turned to see Luke stood at the door way. He came out, shutting the door behind him. "You alright?"

"Yeah, I'm good. Just wanted some fresh air that's all"

"I understand, my family can get a bit overwhelming"

"Yeah, but I love them" I told him. He sat on the edge of the decking, they had in the backyard, next to me.

"Yeah, me too" I rested my head on his shoulder and felt his hands start to slowly stroke my hair. "You staying over tonight?"

"Yeah, if you don't mind that is"

"Of course I don't mind"

"Luke, what's gonna happen at college?"

"Maddie, I have no idea. All I know is as long as we stick together we'll be alright"

"God, I love you, Luke"

"I love you too, Mads, I really, really do"
