It's June 19th of 1979, and you're close friends with one of the kids in your neighbourhood; Brian Welch. You were invited to his 9th birthday party. You walk into the little two story house that he lives in, and you drop your school backpack down onto the hardwood floor. You walk into the living room and see Brian sitting on the couch. "Y/N! You came!" He gives you a wide goofy grin. You chuckle and nod. "U-hm. Yeah.. A-Am i.. Did.. Uh.. Did I come too late?" He shakes his head and smiles. "No, we're just about to though!"
You nod. Brian walks into his kitchen, the dark blue flower wallpaper looks nice. You see his birthday cake on the table, it saying 'HAPPY 9TH BIRTHDAY, BRIAN' and it has a smiley face on the side. He carefully takes the lid off and puts it aside. "This is my birthday cake! Do you like it?" He looks at you and smiles big. You look at it and nod your head furiously. "Uh-Huh! It looks really cool! I wish I had a birthday cake like that!"
After a few minutes of waiting, Brian's parents come in to the kitchen. You jump onto one of the chairs that are by the table, and his parents dim the lights. Lighting the candles on his cake. You take a deep breath and you all sing 'Happy Birthday' to Brian, in sync. After you're done, Brian blows out his candles and giggles. His parents cut you and him a slice each of his cake and he eats it with a smile, sitting right next to you.
