Day 7.1

A/N: Hello lovelies! Happy New Year!✨

I was involved in a car accident and lost my car over the holidays and had to get another one, so I have been a little bit preoccupied, but the chapter is here now! I'd love to hear your comments as it always really inspires me to write quicker!

For those you don't know the play scene for this chapter was voted for on Twitter/Wattpad and "police-criminal" won, very closely followed by "pirate-damsel". So I wrote this! I wanted to take advantage of the beautiful scenery and I couldn't see anything overly typical (in terms of "fancy dress") fitting the mood, so I hope this is alright?

Their hunt for fancy dress costumes was successful. They visited what has already become their favourite clothes shop on the island and came out with bags of stuff – not some cheap tat either but the costumes they bought were actual good quality, second-hand theatre costumes, finely hand-detailed and therefore, beautiful.

It's hardly a surprise, but Jungkook had no hand in the process of choosing the outfits, Taehyung did all the work and just said it'll add to the mystery.

They ended up spending the evening in town, walking around, window-shopping, exploring and eating. They ate local food from a street vendor, sitting on little plastic seats, giggling while sampling various foods and drinks until they couldn't possibly eat another thing.

After eating, they stumbled upon a small, local theatre performance outdoors in a tiny courtyard of an old, traditional stone building. Taehyung sat down on the ground with the children who had gathered to watch in front of the makeshift stage, Jungkook lingered by the side, watching his boyfriend's sparkling eyes and wide smile more than the play.

Despite the language barrier, Taehyung managed to pick up most of the story line and he went over it with large gestures and funny voices all the way back to the house, under the starry sky.

The evening was just perfect.

When Jungkook wakes up from his lazy, late afternoon siesta the next day, after spending a delicious morning by the pool swimming, lying down in the sun (and making out), he finds the bed empty... except for a very familiar-looking parcel and a note... with a hand-drawn map on a wrinkled piece of paper.

A glass of ice water and some sliced fruit wait for him by the side, which makes Jungkook think Taehyung can't be far away. He can't help but to chuckle at the dramatics when he reads the note.

"Wear this. Find the gold and keep it safe. Don't get caught. Winner takes all."

Jungkook eyes the map for a moment until he figures out it outlines the garden – he recognises the path down toward the beach. To his surprise, the vast majority of the huge space remains unexplored and the cross for the "treasure" is deep in the unknown territory. Familiar tingles of excitement begin when his mind starts concocting possible scenarios straight away. What is Taehyung up to this time?

He rips into the brown paper wrapped around the clothing and immediately realises that Taehyung had much more fun in the shop the day before than he'd realised – his outfit is that of a pirate.

"Pirates... huh? Winner takes it all... that part sounds fun," he mutters, heart instantly beating a little faster when he opens the bag fully and pulls out an old-fashioned, white "shirt" (no buttons, no sleeves – what a surprise?), a deep red sash belt and what looks to be tight black pants. An extra bag on the floor reveals some high boots and even a fake, curved sword and of course... an eye patch. The full ensemble.
