The night spent in Professor Snape's dungeon was only known to one other person: Draco Malfoy. He had insisted on knowing where Persephone had gone after the message was found on the wall, and she had no good excuse.
"You actually slept in his bed?" he asked, pulling on his socks, and looking around his dormitory.
"Not with him, Draco. You're acting like we snogged and then shagged."
"Well you might as well have!"
"Ew, Draco, grow up."
"I just can't believe he let you in there. And he watched over you all night?"
"Yes, it was quite sweet, actually."
"Well, better not tell father, he might murder you."
Lucius Malfoy had made it clear on many occasions that Persephone was not to date or be intimate until the legal age of consent. Which in the wizarding world, a person could consent at the age of fourteen.
"I was planning on telling him today before the quidditch match."
"Your funeral."
Persephone scoffed, leaving the boys dormitory, and running into Pansy as she shut the door.
"Were you listening to our conversation?" she asked, crossing her arms as they faced each other.
"So what if I was?"
Rolling her eyes, Persephone left, walking into the common room and out into the dungeons. Working her way to the Great Hall, she noticed the Gryffindor quidditch team coming down the stairs.
"You better tell your cousin to watch out today. Harry is going to catch that snitch before you can spell winner," said one of the girls, making the Weasley twins laugh.
"If you have an issue with my cousin, then go speak with him," Persephone said.
"There's something strange about you, Black, we're not the only ones who notice it," said the tall team captain.
"Thanks, and everyone thinks Slytherins are the cruel ones. What have I done to you guys?"
"Your cousin called one of my friends a mudblood!" Harry said suddenly, coming to the front of the group. She had never talked to Harry before and did not want to either. This boy was the reason she had no parents, and he blamed her father for the same reason.
"Perhaps she is," Persephone said haughtily.
"Say that again!" said Harry, pulling out his wand along with a few other players.
"Potter!" Came a harsh voice from behind her, and she turned to see Snape and her uncle walking into the school, "lower your wand if you still want to play in the quidditch match today."
Harry lowered his wand, but his gaze was fixed on Lucius.
"What are you doing here?" he said, still looking at Persephone's uncle.
"Manners, Potter. I am the school governor, I am allowed to visit when I please," Lucius said, holding his hand out to Persephone. Watching with silent horror the realization dawned on the Gryffindor team that Persephone was Lucius Malfoy's niece. Grasping her uncle's hand, he pulled her away from the team, pushing her into place between him and Snape.
