I absolutely hate that Anastasia is still living in that group home and have tried my best to get her to come home with us and bring all her things, which is very little. Her suitcase is a duffle bag from a military surplus store. We are worried about her safety until we saw her flip a guy bigger than Ray onto his backside and told him next time it will be the hospital and the cops. Ray wasn't happy and he called the cops anyway. The DNA test proves she is our Anastasia and she has been to our home a few times. Ray helped her get her drivers license so that she could buy her own car. She sees a psychologist regularly but she still has no memory of us, only memories of being abused. I ask her to try a different doctor because the one she has isn't helping her to remember the good part of her life before the guy kidnapped her. We found out he died in prison. He apparently hit a guy and the guy with one punch broke his neck. One hell of a punch if you ask me.Ray
I am scared that this guy she flipped is going to come at her in another way and she won't be able to escape his attack. So I call the police and press charges against the guy. Anastasia goes with me and the guy is spending the night in jail. The problem is, he still lives in the group home. So I start packing her things and load them in our van and tell the group manager that she has to move for her own safety. She decided to come with us and grabbed her keys and talked to the manager about how her safety was why she moved out. She tried to keep things low but when he started arguing with her about the safety issues she told him that this was not the first time he had ignored her regarding getting these guys in line when it came to the females in the group home and she would be reporting it to the caseworkers yet again and if they don't do anything the cops would be interested in the situation he had going on and she had proof of it and he was told before to stop what he was doing. Th guy took her keys and handed her the security deposit from his pocket. A 1000.00 dollar deposit seems quite high for a deposit on this place. It was an efficiency apartment and she made it safer. Two dead bolt locks on the doors. Alarms on her windows. I dared not to ask her about it though. That guy came at her even with us there.Anastasia
They have a room ready for me and have bought me a new computer to use for college. A printer plus a tv and a nice big bed and I have my own bathroom and dresser and closet. They show me around and then we start supper in which everyone is involved. The kitchen is huge and there is plenty of space for all of us to participate in the creating of the meals and we are done in no time. There was memory of something that flashed in my head. I just got a glimpse of it but it was me in a kitchen with others doing this same thing but the kitchen was smaller. My head started hurting as more memories come to me. Not good memories at all, me alone trying to reach something and it fell on me, remembering yelling and pain after that. Ray and Carla talk to me about my name and my emancipation.Isabel
I don't know how to handle my sister being back home. It feels very strange and sad to see her and that she has faced so much that she no longer remembers who we are. None of us have forgotten her because we were always looking for her wherever we were. A few times we thought we saw her but she disappeared in the crowds. She was very quick and it had been her all this time at least thought it was. There was several girls who looked similar to Anastasia and they weren't her. Mom said we need to make sure Anastasia feels at home here. Mom and dad are going to buy her a car just as they did for me and Carl. Mine could use an update, but dad told me that he would do that when I graduate college. I wasn't happy about it at all. Anastasia is in college as well and I never had any classes with her.Carl
Isabel is upset about the car purchase for Anastasia but I believe that she is our sibling and we got new cars for our high school graduation present and she should too. Isabel is rough on her car, cars. She had three car wrecks and totaled it finally they gave her just enough money to buy a used car. Dad and I helped get her the best one for the best deal. Her insurance rates went up though. Dad pays for everything anyway. Anastasia has been working her butt off to get into college on a scholarship. She has had a rough time of it, while we have had our moments but nothing like she has.Anastasia Rose Smith Steele
Mom and dad encouraged me to take my given name but I wanted to keep the Smith as a reminder of what happened to me. Not that I can forget it. Isabel resented the idea of my getting a new car when I got my drivers license. But she soon realized that she got one as well when she graduated high school. My parents business is making a lot of money. They built it from scratch and it stemmed from my disappearance. They have been able to locate missing persons a lot quicker than locating me. Ten years later I am back with my family.
