The Bbq

Carla
We are getting things ready to go to the Grey bbq and they are opening their pool up to swim in today. So we get our swim gear ready to go. Anastasia and Isabel made a couple of chocolate cakes both are different. Anastasia made hers from scratch and it looks great a black forest cake, it needs refrigeration. Isabel made a Boston crème cake and it needs refrigeration as well. It's good that I have the room for them in my cooler next to the refrigerator. I get the meat out that we are taking over to grill. Ray and Carl like to grill a lot and they have a special marinade that they use and I am not allowed to know it. I make a few things along with Isabel and Anastasia we load all our things and head over to the Grey's.

Ray
I carry the cooler with the meat in it and Carl carries the cooler with the drinks, sodas and beers. Carla has a cooler with the cakes in it and the girls have coolers with the rest of the food inside. I have already put our aprons in the van along with my grilling implements. Carla bought them for me when we finally built the bbq grill outside as a thank you gift to me. We arrive and are welcomed and helped to bring the food to the backyard. Carrick shows me where to take the meat and my grilling gear.

Carrick
Ray and I are the chief of the grill today. Plus he has brought some very good food and his special sauce. The secrets in the sauce as they say in fried green tomatoes lol. Ray won't give me his and I won't give him mine. Both are secrets. Mia invited Kate and her family without confirming with us beforehand. We did tell her that the Mateo's, Williams and Johnson's were not to be invited. That we made very clear to her after she invited the Kavanagh family. Luckily only Kate and Ethan can come. They arrive looking like they might have been out last night. Elliott and Christian arrive racing for the best parking spot. Christian's security is with him and they brought Gail and a lot of her good food. Jason carries the food with pride as he should it is his wife's cooking and it's great. Christian got a good deal getting them both to work for him.,

Grace
The boys have finally made it. Both look like they had a long night just like Kate and Ethan. The Steele family look well rested. Must be nice, I had an emergency surgery last night. Mia had to cook for us. I watch as our family mingles with the others and I notice that Anastasia is sticking close to her mother and sister. We sit down and have a great meal together at the tables we brought out of storage. Everything is ready to dig into at the buffet table and we sit down with our food. The meat looks great and a lot of it. Elliott and Christian are looking at the chocolate cakes and they grab a piece of each cake. I remind them to eat their dinner before they eat the cake. With their appetites they will not have troubles eating it and their dinner.

Carl
I do the same as Elliott and Christian otherwise the cakes will be gone before I finish my dinner. I grab a nice portion of the neat dad cooked. Then add all my favorite sides and my drink and find a seat. Mia sits by me and we start chatting about college and my tech school. Elliott hears this and sits by me and we discuss it further and he says he could use more licensed electricians and he could help me get trained as well. I give him my phone number so we can discuss it further.

Elliott
I had heard Carl talk about getting his electricians license so I sat down next to him and brought the subject up. Mia got bored and started to talk to Kate, Anastasia and Isabel. I give him my number and he gives me his as well. I look over at Mia and her friends and they are chatting away. I like Kate's laugh and she's very pretty. Christian comes over to talk about his new project and what he wants to do with it. I notice that Anastasia frowned and turned herself away from him.

Anastasia
I try to ignore Christian as much as possible, I don't need to get the interrogations anymore. I did nothing to make him question me about my private life before meeting Mia and I think he is asking the wrong person about their intentions being her friend. So I just act like he doesn't exist.

Mia
Anastasia seemed to become irritated when Christian joined the table. I noticed she avoided him at my birthday party after he spoke to her. I think he upset her for some reason. Kate said she noticed that he seemed to be asking her a lot of questions and she git up and left after saying something to him. After that she has kept her distance. I can't believe that Mr and mrs Kavanagh came anyway, Kate said that they found out about the bbq because Ethan asked what they should bring. They brought wine and cheese like it was an adult dinner party.

Eamon
I watch as Kate and Ethan enjoy chatting with the other young people and I hope they might become interested in each other. Mia seems to have a crush on Ethan and Kate likes Elliott. Enid told me not to get involved just as Kate told me over and over again. I am her father it is my responsibility to get involved. Enid told me to stop watching the youngsters and start paying attention to the conversation we are having.

Enid
I ask Carla about the recipe for the cakes and the sauce and she laughs and says those are Isabel's, Anastasia's and Ray's recipes. The girls made the cakes he made the sauce. I was amazed that all three were good cooks, I can attest to the fact Kate can burn water.
