Dragons Rising Episode 2, The Merge: Part 2

A/N: I try to use as much of the actual dialogue and character actions from the episodes as I can. I'm sorry if I get anything wrong, it is purely unintentional. Also, I do not own Ninjago and credit for all show dialogue and characters goes to their owners.

Lloyd is retelling the story of how he found Kai after the Merge to Arin and Sora.

I had just walked out of the Monastery with a warm cup of tea when I looked up and saw the Bounty, anchored just outside the Monastery gates.

I gasped and dropped the cup, running towards the Bounty.

I quickly climbed up the anchor chain and warily pulled myself up and over the railing, landing softly on the deck.

I was about to start investigating the ship for clues when I heard footsteps coming from around the corner of the bridge.

Without a second thought I bursted into Spinjitzu, grabbing the person and throwing them over the rail onto the lower deck.

With a yell I leapt up and prepared to land a blow with an elementally charged fist.

But then the person below suddenly rolled over and yelled, "What the heck, Lloyd!?"

It was Kai.

I froze mid jump and landed off balance, waving my arms around frantically to keep from falling over.

"Kai! Sorry." I said, once I recovered.

I then offered Kai my hand and he grabbed it, using it to pull himself up.

"I haven't seen anyone in weeks." I said to Kai.

Kai just grabbed and lifted me up, spinning us around in a tight hug.

— Lloyd doesn't tell this next part to Arin and Sora cuz they're just kids —

He then whispered into my ear, "So good to see you, greenie."

As he set me down I whispered back, "You too."

Kai cupped my face in his hands and kissed me, pouring all his love and affection for me into it.

With a quiet moan I pressed myself up against him, wrapping my arms around his neck, relishing the close contact with my husband that I had missed for so long.

Eventually we had to part for air, our breaths coming out in short gasps as we stood there looking into each other's eyes.

Until suddenly there was a loud rumble and we both looked up to see the sky splitting open, similar to how it did during the Merge.

It was a Mergequake.

Mergequakes are like aftershocks. Places where realms are unstable, trying to share the same area, like cracks in reality. And we learned that, for some reason, Elemental Powers can close them.

We barely managed to close the Mergequake. Kai almost collapsed after, and I too felt shaky and unstable on my feet.

Closing a Mergequake takes a lot of Elemental Energy, and they are only getting stronger. After a few days together we decided that we needed help to stop them.

Kai took the Bounty to search the combined realms for answers, and I stayed to keep everyone safe.

I waved to Kai as he set sail, not knowing if he would ever return.
