Crystallized Episode 24, Return of the Ice Emperor ; & ; Episode 25, Safe Haven

A/N: Warning! The scene order in this is going to be a bit different than it is in the show. I'll be showing Kai and Cole's side before Lloyd and Garamadon's. Basically I'm reversing the order of episodes 24 and 25.

"Augh, my head." Kai groans, slowly opening his eyes and taking in his surroundings.

He finds himself... upside down? Yes, upside down in his vehicle.

"What? Where am I?" He wonders aloud.

A low groan makes him look up, er, or is it down? Either way he spots Cole still trapped in his car.

"Cole?" He says, looking at the earth elemental. Cole's only response is another groan, sending a spike of worry through Kai's body.

"Cole!" He yells, "Cole, can you hear me!?"

Still no response. Kai flips back his hood and unbuckles his seatbelt. Opening the cockpit of his vehicle, he ends up falling on top of Cole's car and then rolls off it to land on the street.

"Ow." Kai grumbles, pulling himself up and rubbing his back.

He starts dragging debris off of Cole's car, trying to open the cockpit to get to his friend. As he's struggling to open it, he hears a familiar voice coming from down the street.

"You six go that way! The rest of you, that way! Search the streets!"

"I know that voice." Kai whispers. Peeking above Cole's car and around the corner of the building they've crashed into, he spots Pythor ordering several Vengestone soldiers around.

"Find the ninja! The Crystal King commands it!" Pythor yells, hissing as the soldiers slowly work their way down the street.

Kai runs back over to Cole's car, tugging on the cockpit to try and open it.

"Come on. Come on! Wake up, Cole, buddy." Straining, Kai tries to force the cockpit open, "Not a good time for a beauty nap." he says as it finally opens.

Cole stirs in the cockpit as Kai unbuckles him and flips back his hood. Opening his eyes slightly, Cole asks in a sleepy voice, "What happened? Did we win?"

Kai grunts as he lifts Cole up and out of the car, the latter ends up falling on him and knocking them both to the ground.

"Not exactly." Kai says. He attempts to pick up Cole, but the black ninja reaches over and grabs onto Kai's waist, looking up at him through unfocused, sleepy eyes he asks, "Are you an angel? You look pretty." a goofy grin spreads across his face and Kai groans, trying to unwrap Cole's arms from around him.

"Look, buddy, we can't stay here. And you know I love you, like a brother, but I already have a boyfriend." Kai says. He manages to pry Cole's arms off from his waist, slinging one of his arms around his shoulder instead. Slowly, Kai half drags half carries Cole away from the wreckage of their vehicles and towards a nearby alleyway.

As they cross the threshold of the alley, Kai hears the frustrated voice of Pythor shout, "Where are they?!" coming from over by the wrecked vehicles.

His eyes dart around the alley, looking for somewhere to hide. Normally Kai would've just turned around and fought Pythor, but with Cole out of commission he can't protect him and fight Pythor at the same time. Spotting a dumpster, Kai brings Cole over to it and gently sets his friend down behind it before going and hiding there as well.
