24 years later
Present dayNevaeh wakes up to kisses along her cheek, and forehead, and her nose, and the corner of her mouth, and her neck, and the center of her chest, and her stomach, and just below her belly button, and-
"Uh-uh, nope." She shoves him away, and Theo groans.
"Ugh, why."
She sits up, "because, I have a class in an hour, and I don't wanna be late."
He throws his arms up. "An hour."
She rolls her eyes. "That's what I said." She gets up out of the bed, but isn't able to stand up fully before he pulls her right back down and tickles her while nibbling at her earlobe.
"Don't be a smart ass." He bites her neck and she giggles.
"I gotta go, seriously, Theo. I'm gonna be late." She laughs and walks to the bathroom.
He rolls his eyes. "No you won't. You're quite literally 5 minutes away. You just wanna be early, Nerd."
She grabs her toothpaste and squeezes toothpaste on it. "You know that isn't an insult, right? I love being smart. It's why I'm able to outsmart you all of the time." She smiles and tilts her head.
He walks over to the bathroom door and he looks down at her, smirking. "I'm gonna fix that smart mouth of yours."
"Yeah, and how you plan on doing that?" She looks up at him innocently.
"Stay, and I'll show you how."
She pretends to contemplate it and shrugs. "Nope, sorry. You know what they say, books before dicks."
He chuckles and rolls his eyes. "Literally, no one says that." He walks over to their nightstand, and checks his phone. "Oh, by the way, when you get here, I won't be here."
She peeks out of the bathroom. "Why?"
"Steve and Wyatt wants to hang out. Just a small get together. Probably have a few beers, watch sports, you know, that kind of stuff. I'll be at Steve's house."
She nods, "KK." She does her hair and gets dressed. She decided to dress simple today. Red, White, and Black flannel, white pants, and some black Dr. Marten platform boots. She checks the time on her phone. 7:48 a.m. She reaches up and gives Theo a peck on the lips. "Kk babe, I'm leaving, love you."
"Love you, too. See you later."
She grabs her purse and walks out of the door, before peeking right back in. "Tell Wyatt he owes me a 20. Blake said yes." On her way to her car, she decides to pull her phone out and try dialing her brother's number again. It's a bit strange to her that she hasn't heard from him this week when he'd usually check up on her at least once a week. She gets in the car and texts him.
Call me, asshole. You're really starting to worry me now.
A part of her really didn't want to worry, because he'd went no contact for a week or two a couple of times because of hunting. But he'd always tell her. He'd always let her know before hand that he was busy hunting so that he wouldn't worry her. And today makes 8 days that she hadn't heard from him. And with her knowing how dangerous hunting could be, she couldn't help but worry. Her phone dings, and her heart practically skips a beat. But it's just Madeline.
Maddie: Pleaseeeee tell me you're here.
She smiles.
Nevaeh: I'm here.
Maddie: Actually?
Nevaeh: I'm on my way. You can survive 2 minutes without me.
Maddie: Barely.
