chapter seven

It was about 2 AM and I still couldn’t sleep. I went downstairs to see Madi on the couch. I was about to go and sit by her but then she started to talk to someone. “Yea Darcy she was trending! I wish I was trending on Twitter and she and Austin are getting really really close. I want that with him” she said to I’m guessing Darcy’s on the phone. She started to nod. I think Darcy was saying things that she agreed to. “Okay I’ll talk to you later.” She said and put her phone down. I ran back up the stairs and pretended to come back down. “Oh Alexis, why are you up?” she asked. “I couldn’t sleep. I was going to get a snack.” I said walking into the kitchen. I looked in the cupboards and finally found a chocolate chip granola bar. I grabbed it and went back upstairs. I really didn’t eat it so I put it in my side table for later. I lay down and made myself go to sleep. I woke up at 8 and noticed Austin was gone. I went into Shelby and Madi’s room and noticed they were gone too. I then went to Alex and Robert’s room and they were gone too! I went downstairs to see if they were down there too but they weren’t! The whole house was empty. I went back upstairs and got ready because I’m going to go for a ride. I went out into the garage and saw the golf cart sitting there. I opened the garage and started the golf cart. Both cars were still there so they couldn’t be far. I’ve rode a golf cart like once. That’s been 4 years. I pressed the gas and it jerked forward so I stopped. I just laughed and said, “This is going to be fun” to myself. I started to drive and got the hang of it. I drove by all the cabins and then down to the beach. I didn’t think there would be a lot of people there but I was so wrong. I felt like 90% of the cabins were here! I searched to see if I could see any of my friends but I couldn’t find them. I called it quits and went back to the cabin. When I got close to the driveway, I saw all of them walking down the road. I drove up to them slowly. “Ive got some candy. You want some?” I asked them in a really creepy voice. Alex jumped in and said, “Ah candy!” I quickly stepped on the gas. I felt like I was kidnapping him. I made a U turn and saw them staring at me. Alex and I drove past them and back to the cabin. “Thanks for the ride!” he said laughing. I laughed and asked, “Where did you guys go? I was driving around and felt creepy.” “Oh we walked some of the trails! They were really pretty. There was even this water fall too.” He said. I frowned. “Why didn’t you guys wake me up?” I sadly asked. “Madi said you were up all night and we should let you sleep.” He said. “That’s Madi for you! Maybe I’ll have to go and look at them by myself!” I said, by now we were in the house.
