It has been weeks since Nightmare and Maya last saw the villagers. During that time, the villagers managed to locate a plot of land and establish a home for themselves. The fact that the villagers had built a village nearby infuriated the siblings. Maya was on edge because of this. As for Nightmare, his overprotectiveness of his sister has skyrocketed, and it is justified.

Every day, the village's residents attempt to separate Maya from her brother. To asking for assistance with tasks that her feeble body cannot even perform, despite the villagers' know knowledge of this. Maya is wondering why in the world are they coming to her for lifting and fixing stuff? She also refused to clean up after them. She is aware that Nightmare has explained everything to them because she has been watching him do it.

Maya: You do understand that I am a child, right? My brother and I are about four years old. And why am I required to assist you guys with anything? It is not my job, and I would not help even if I could. My brother has already informed you of my weak physical condition.

Said brother appeared to be planning a homicide. The villagers beg her to help them, saying that her frail physical condition is not an acceptable reason. When Nightmare had enough of their foolishness, he pulled out his guns, frightening them into fleeing. Maya's face shows relief as she watches them flee as Nightmare puts his guns away. He walks over to the tree of feeling, taking his sister into his arms in a protective embrace while leaning against their mother.

Nightmare: What are these fools not understanding!?

Maya: I am not sure why, but it bothers me.

Nightmare: You are not their servant and bear no responsibility for them.

Maya: I know. It is bad enough they keep staring at me like I am a piece of meat. Their negativity was sickening. Can I absorb your negativity to help me forget about it?

Nightmare: Maya, you do not have to ask; you are always welcome to eat from me. I promise to protect you better the next time, or I could just rip out their eyes. They are not allowed to look at you.

Maya: If you do warn me first I want to close my eyes and non-existing ears. As much as I like to appear cold-hearted, I will most likely try to stop you.

His sister's words caused Nightmare face experience to soften, as they were aware of its truth. Do not misunderstand Maya; although she would defend herself and her brother in a fight, she is not a murderer or a violent person. However, this does not imply she is a good person. Maya recognizes that her brother has the ability and willingness to kill others. Yet she doesn't try to talk or stop him from doing it.

Nightmare: Sister I...

Maya: Nightmare, don't. I accept you as you are. Violences and all. I may not like it but I love you. You are my brother, my family. If it comes to it, I am willing to kill for you. I would even die for you if necessary.

Nightmare: Don't say that! I will not let you perish on my behalf. I refuse to let you to take lives. I would prefer you not to get your hands dirty, sister.

Maya: But you are able to? Why can't I?

Nightmare: Because, dear sister, I am certain it will change you. In the last few years, I have come to realize that I relish the sensation of killing living things. Unlike me, you care about these filth lives and their lively hoods; to me, they are nothing more than bugs under our feet. But you are my family, my sister, and I cherish you. Everything else is unnecessary for me.

Maya looks at her brother, shocked, mouth hanging open. She was aware of her brother's violent tendencies, but not to this extent. Holy Toby Fox her brother is a sociopath and yet she still accept him. Maya closed her mouth as she inhaled deeply, expressing her indifference, unsure what this meant about her metal state. She closed her eyes, resting on her brother's chest, wanting to put the thought out of her mind.

Seeing this Nightmare move to sit down with Maya in his arms as she curls up into a ball. Nightmare sensed his sister was exhausted from the day's events. He patted her cheek as a reminder to consume his negativity. Maya opened one eye socket to look at her brother and figure out what he wanted. She opened her mouth slightly, sucked in some negative feelings, and then stopped.

Upon witnessing his sister not consume enough food, Nightmare scowled. He hates the fact that his sister is starving just to protect herself. Feeling resentful of himself for not having the strength to absorb her positive energy and assist her. Maya sensed her brother's negative energy rising, knowing exactly what case it was. She reached up and stroked her brother's cheekbone without even looking at him to soothe him.

Maya: Brother, could you please promise me something?

Nightmare: Hmm?

Maya: If what you said is true, I do not want to see it. I will not stop you, but please do not murder innocent people and monsters. Please promise for me?

Nightmare: I promise for you, sister.
