The door of her dorm room slams shut and Suguru almost screams for help. Deep down, he has never been able to understand her.

Satoru seemed strangely affected by her every action, like a domino effect. She'd smile and he'd smile at the sight of it.

She'd laugh and he'd feel the joy. She'd be sad and he'd feel the dullness in his chest.

Suguru had tried his best to discern her strange behavior towards him too. At first, when she had asked him if he was okay, he assumed it was his dark circles.

He brushed it off, but the way she stole her gaze gave it away. He felt weirded out by the fact that she could see through his walls.

He was guarded, he refused to share what was going on in his head. He refused to show his demons but it seemed no walls could avoid her gaze. It was as if she could see through him and it hated it.

Avoiding her was easy after that. They rarely saw each other, and two out of those three times, he acted as if she wasn't there.

But it seemed she was on his case no matter what. Did she really think she could stop it? The constant nagging of contemplation in his head and heart?

She wouodnt be able to help him, who was hanging by a thread between loyalty and betrayal towards his heart and mind.

If he didn't move towards his belief, he'd betray himself. But if he did, he'd be betraying Satoru.

(see what I did there💀)

Did she really think she could sort that mess out?

He scoffed softly, leaning against the door with an exhausted sigh.

" What are you trying, really? " He mumbled, " Drop it. "

" Okay. "

He raised an eyebrow, it can't be that easy, could it?

" Huh? "

"...fine. It's not like I can force you. So
whatever, " she slumped against the bedside, " If you want to leave, just leave. "

He turned on his heels, grabbing the door knob. But then, there was a strange pull. He couldn't open it at all, he couldn't bring himself to.

He sighed softly, grip tightening. He wanted to leave but not at the same time.

There was loneliness in there, he knew that right now, he'd take anything over staying alone with his thoughts.

But staying here also meant he'd talk about those same thoughts.

" We can watch a movie instead. "

He flinched, looking at her warily. "...are you sure you haven't lied? You read minds, don't you? "
