"Somebody's in a hurry" an employee comments as she wipes her hands on her apron, creating another large flour hand print.
"Oh yea actually I have a date and I wanna hurry home" I reply as I scamper around the room trying to finish everything so that I can leave.
"Why don't you go I'll take care of everything and finish up here for you" she offers with a smile.
"Oh my gosh! You'd do that? Thank you so much" I give her a brief hug then gather my things and leave. I'd never openly admit it aloud but I'm actually really excited to go out with Walter.
I really did miss him and I'm glad that he's back.
We go way back to my freshman year in high school and when he left I was moping around depressed for at least two weeks before I got back to my usual self.
Don't get our relationship confused though, Walter and I are just very special friends. He's not my boyfriend and I am most certainly not his girlfriend.
As soon as my car pulls into the driveway I turn off the ignition and run into the house. In less than 30 minutes I manage to take a quick shower and pull on an oversize blue cotton tee and a pair of denim shorts.
I have no idea where Walter's taking me but I'm almost sure that I don't need to dress up. He isn't exactly the type of guy you'd see bringing a girl to a 5 star restaurant.
A small smile forms on my face at the thought of Walter in a 5 star restaurant. With his dark brown messy hair, hazel eyes, cold exterior and his typical attire which consists of dark jeans, a band tee and occasionally a leather jacket. He'd stand out like a straight guy in a gay bar.
"I'm ready" I text him while removing my hair tie and slipping into a pair of sandals.
"Come outside" he texts back almost immediately.
I head downstairs and open the door to find Walter leaning against my doorpost with his hands in his front pockets.
"So you're stalking me now?"
"Stalking is such a strong word" he replies smugly causing me to roll my eyes, "I just happen to be hanging around the area when I got your text"
"Right" I shut the door then turn back around to face him.
"Come here" he motions with his index finger and I take a small step in his direction
"Closer" he says and I take an even smaller step.
Laughing he tells me to come closer for the second time but this time as soon as I move his arms fly out and he pulls me to him.
My face is buried into his chest and I can't help but take in his scent as he wraps his arms around my waist even tighter.
"I missed you" he exhales into my hair in a peaceful manner. His body relaxes and I can sense the tension being released from his body.
"I didn't even think it was possible for you to get any clingier, but here you are proving me wrong" I tease him as soon as his grip around me slackens and I'm able to breathe.
Instead of waiting for him to kiss me this time I attempt to tip on my toes and kiss him but he's still way too tall for me at 6ft.
He laughs at my struggle but bends a little none the less and meets me part way for the kiss.
"We should get going" I say as soon as he pulls away and entwines our fingers. Walter leads me down the driveway to a black pick-up truck and I raise my eyebrows in confusion.
"Where is your motorcycle?" I question
"Don't worry about it babe" he winks opening the door for me and I jump in. Confusion floods my mind because I've never seen Walter drive anything but his motorcycle before. It was like an unspoken commandment for him. He hated cars, trucks, vans, basically anything that wasn't his motorcycle.
