"I missed you" Sophia whines while pulling me into a hug as soon as she opens the door.
"And that make up is not fooling me. You look tired" she scolds me, although she's the younger one she acts like the opposite at times.
I'd never admit it but a part of me likes when she scolds me about little things like this. Growing up without another sibling around has had its faults but having Sophia around has filled several gaps.
"You look good." I compliment her, avoiding the earlier comment about me looking tired "Not as hot as me but you still look good" I lie, knowing damn well that Sophia looks way better than me right now. I hadn't taken as much time as usual to get ready tonight.
You tend to do that when half of your brain isn't functioning properly and your disgruntled father is threatening your very existence.
My hair brushed past my shoulders and down my back in natural loose waves, a decision I knew I was probably going to regret later that night.
Sophia looked me up and down, her eyes judged and scrutinized every inch of my body in one swift movement.
By the look on her face I could tell she wasn't pleased by my black leggings, sweater crop top and converses."You look basic" she says flatly
"Ouch" I say putting my hand over my chest, I'm too tired to care but her criticism still hurts a tad bit.
"I agree!" Mitchy adds, I hadn't even noticed her small frame in the hallway.
"Not that you don't look good , you just usually look way better"
"I know" I sign plopping down unto Sophia's bed "I was rushing and I was just so tired. I wasn't thinking straight"
"Luckily for you we're the same size" Sophia squeals running towards her closet. The idea of dressing anyone up excites her way too much for a college student.
"But I don't want to change" I whine "My outfit is just fine"
"You like my 14yr old sister who still shops in the kids section " Sophia retorts
"Oh my gosh. Can you stop with the burns! You've dissed me like twice since I've got here and I haven't even been here for 2 minutes"
"Here" she says throwing me a pair of black shorts, off the shoulder black crop top and a badwood tam.
"This tam looks oddly familiar" I scowl at Sophia as her eyes move around the round in an innocent manner
"Don't act like you don't have a couple of my clothes over at your house!" she yells throwing a pillow at me.
I pull on the outfit at my own pace then begin inspecting myself in the mirror. This is something Sophia would wear, not me. I tug at the hem of the shirt in discomfort.
"I don't like it!" I grumble heading to her closet
"Then find something else" she yells from the bathroom
This time I pull on a pair of ripped jeans with a 3-quarter sleeve lace top and black wedge booties.
"Much better" Sophia states once she re-enters the room
"What about jewelry?" Mitchy asks pulling on her shoes.
"I have a necklace and a watch in the car. Lets go" I say walking out the door with Sophia and Mitchy following close behind me.
The minute I get inside the car I slide out of the wedges and my bare feet is met by the coolness of the gas pedal.
"so what specifically did Walter say why you guys got in the fight" Sophia asks as soon as we pull out of the parking lot. She has the tendency of asking about things when I least want to discuss them.
