"So these are the stuff I was thinking we could serve." I announce handing the list to the assistant manager who began skimming over the paper with a satisfied look on her face.

The event was on Saturday and I wanted her approval on everything I had finalized. I needed to get this right. To anyone else the whole thing might have not seemed like a big deal.

It was just catering for an event right? And I didn't even have to do any cooking or baking. But truth be told it was a big deal. Unlike most customers Mr. Ellis did not a place an order with a menu, I had to go by my gut which is extremely risky. Not to mention the fact that if I screw this up I ruin my chances of receiving the company.

So to avoid completely screwing up, behind my father's back I asked her check to it over for me. I had already went ahead and ordered extra inventory even though she hadn't approved it quite yet. You couldn't go wrong with having extra inventory anyway; they could always come in handy if we didn't end up using them on Saturday.

"I like it. It's different, not what we usually serve at events like these but I think we can- I mean you can pull it off" she smiles and the feeling of satisfaction fills my heart. I had been like a toddler, eager for their parent's approval and now that I had gotten it I was pleased.

"No I think you mean WE can. We're a team, I really appreciate you reviewing this for me, it means a lot." I thank her with sincerity

"Is that all you wanted me to check? Did you want my opinion on the decorations and other stuff too?" she asks while sitting in her chair.

"We're in charge of decorating too? I mean don't they usually have someone else for that" I ask without much thought as I continue skimming through the papers once more

"You didn't know?" she coughs as her eyes widen

"Didn't know what?" I slowly ask as the rate of my heartbeat picks up speed

"Whenever Mr. Ellis asks us to cater to an event for him we cater for literally everything. The only thing he takes care of is the invites and the location"

"WHAT THE HELL! We run bakeries for Christ sake not an event planning company. How the hell am I supposed to take care of everything in one week? That's impossible!" I yell throwing my hands up in the air

"Actually you have 5 days not a week" She adds shrinking in her chair behind her desk

"Not helping. I'm so dead. Oh lord. I haven't even done all the things I've wanted to do yet. I'm gonna end up jobless and living in my parents' house forever" I rant pacing back and forth frantically

"No you got this" she lies trying to comfort me

"No I don't got this!" I run my fingers through my hair for the hundredth time in the past minute, not caring if my curls are ruined at this point in time.

"Why the hell am I in here wasting time with you." I say once I begin to slowly comeback to my senses

"I have stuff to do" I scream and for a slight second I glimpse a tiny smirk playing on her lips that disappear as fast as it had appeared. Charging out of her office like a mad woman I head straight to other section of our building where our bakery is.

"These are the things you guys should prepare for Saturday, the delivery truck should be coming tomorrow morning." I say handing the list to the head baker. He only offers a small nod then heads straight back to work, like always he doesn't say much to me.

He's never really been a talker but he sure is a hard worker. He's tall and muscular, with a body built for weightlifting which most certainly comes in handy when large bags of flour and other ingredients need to be moved.
