A few days after Ed was discharged from the hospital, Alexandra, Ed and Lorraine got a call from the police saying Arne had been arrested for manslaughter.
"Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart, who hath not lifted his soul unto vanity, nor swore deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and the righteousness from the God of his salvation" Arne prayed as his arms were chained to a table.
"Right, that's enough. Thank you" Ed said, sitting opposite Arne. "Well?" a Father-in-practice called. "These religious objects in front of him would've been enough to prove there is an inhuman spirit, that is a present one" Alexandra explained, standing next to Ed with her uninjured hand resting on his shoulder.
"Does that mean he's not possessed?" the Father-in-practice asked. "Well, he is reading from the bible, that definitely would have been strong enough to alert the demon" Alexandra shrugged. "What does this mean then? I'm just crazy?" Arne looked at Alexandra and she could tell he was terrified.
"You aren't possessed now but that doesn't mean you weren't" Ed explained. "I invited this thing into me and that' s why he's dead. So, you know, whatever happens to me, I've got it coming" Arne looked down. "No, you don't! Look...I was there. Whatever is going on...whatever happened that day...that was not Arne" Debbie looked at Alexandra and the woman nodded.
"We're gonna help you in every way we can" Lorrain reassured them both. "If the deon is gone, what can you do now?" Debbie frowned. "Who's your lawyer?" Alexandra asked, looking at Arne.

"He was found covered in the victim's blood! The murder weapon belongs to him and is covered in his fingerprints!" the lawyer yelled. "Look lady, the kid knows he's going to prison! We're just saying there were mitigating circumstances!" Alexandra yelled back, standing up.
"I'd watch your tone, if I were you!" the lawyer warned, standing up as well. "I'll watch my tone when I punch you so hard, you'll think you're in 1999!" Alexandra snapped and Lorraine glared at her as Ed tried not to smile. "Alex!" Lorraine hissed but her and the lawyer just continued to glare at each other.
Alexandra sighed and sat down, pulling her pill bottle out of her pocket and opening it, tipping two pills into her palm and downing them. "Look, I don't think he should get the death sentence either. But I'm not going before a grand jury and saying he was possessed by demons. It's never been done!" the lawyer sighed, sitting back down.
"Yes, it has! It's been done twice in England. The Michael Taylor case was just a few years ago!" Ed butted in as Lorraine placed a hand on Alexandra's arm. "Let me rephrase that! It's never been done successfully" she corrected. "Then let us help you. Ed, Alex and I have proven the existence of the demonic hundreds of times" Lorraine said.
"You've proven it to the church. This is the court of law. The standards of evidence is completely clear" the lawyer shook her head. "The court accepts the existence of God every time a witness swears to tell the truth. I think it's about time they accepted the existence of the devil" Ed said, making the lawyer sigh.
"How are you going to convince the jury if you can't even convince me?" she questioned. "Let's gave dinner at our house, show you the evidence we've collected through the years. We'll introduce you to Annabelle. If you're not convinced, we'll butt out. Deal?" Ed offered.
"Alright. Show me what you got" the lawyer said.
"Oh, this'll be fun" Alexandra whispered, making Ed smirk so he didn't laugh.

The judge banged his gavel three times to silence the courtroom. Arne's lawyer sat next to the young man, slightly shaking in fear. "Mr. Johnson, the count of indictment number S-A-J-1-2-1-6, which charges you with first-degree murder, a class-A felony, how do you plea?" the judge asked.
