Hi, I'm Addison Taylor and I lost my parents three years ago today in a car accident. I am 16 now and have a very shitty life. I have been to so many schools in the last three years until the last few months. We found out that my mom actually had a brother and my brother and I moved in with him but he is not the best person to be looking after teenagers. He drinks a lot and sometimes he takes his anger out on me. I only started using makeup when I moved in with him, to hide all the cuts and bruises.
I am sitting at a bar on a Sunday afternoon drinking a rum and coke trying to remember my parents. This day has always been a hard day and I go back to school tomorrow, I started at this school when I moved in with my uncle and I am very popular. All the guys at the school are assholes, they all just want to sleep with me and all of the girls at the school want to be like me. I can't get down the hallway without some guy grabbing my ass and I react so I get in trouble a lot.
I pull out my phone and look back on the last couple of family photos we took before they died. I feel a tear roll down my face.
"Are you alright down there" I hear a male voice. I look up and down the end of the bar. There's a guy sitting on one of the stools looking at me. He had a beer in front of him.
"Uh, yeah. Today is just a hard day" I say as I look back at my phone. He gets up and moves down to the stool next to me.
"I sort of figure since you are here on a Sunday afternoon" I put my phone in my pocket and look at him.
"Well why are you here on a Sunday afternoon"
"I am sort of stressing out and drinking a beer helps me out. I start my new job tomorrow"
"Sounds interesting. Sorry but I better get going" I say as I hop off the stool.
I walk out of the bar and start walking down the street.
"Hey, wait up" I hear the same guy say. I turn around and he's running up to me. "Do you want a lift"
"No offence but I don't really get in cars with strangers"
"Come on, its getting dark"
"It's fine, I'm just down the end of the street" I continue walking.
"Then I'll walk with you" He catches up with me.
"And then walk back to your car.... Fine, where's your car?" He points over to a grey sedan parked across from the bar. He unlocks it and we hop in.
"So just down the end of the street"
"Yeah, I'll tell you where to stop" I say as he starts driving.
"I'm Nicolas by the way"
"Addison..... Uh, you can stop just up here" I say before he stops. I look at him, at that moment was the time I really looked him in the eyes. He has beautiful blue eyes that I feel I could get lost in. He has curly boyish hair that I want to run my hands through and he has a gorgeous smile that I want to kiss. He writes something on a piece of paper and hands it to me.
"Here's my number, call me" I put the piece of paper in my pocket.
"Thanks for the lift" I say as I open the door, about to get out but I turn to him and lean in. He leans in and presses his lips up against mine. I run my hands through his hair as I feel his hands running up and down my back.
I pull away as I feel my phone vibrate in my back pocket. I pull it out and see its Uncle Jake.
"Hey" I answer.
"WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU. YOUR SOCIAL WORKER IS HERE" I hear him yell through the phone. I completely forgot Michelle was coming over tonight.
"Sorry, I got held up. I am just down the street" I say before he hangs the phone up.
