Life isn't always fair

Chapter 2

I looked Nicolas up and down. He looks as shocked as I am. I kissed my teacher last night.

"But I just enjoy our time together" I say as I look back at Mr White.

"I'm serious Addison, you are in 11th grade now. I can't keep giving you detention"

"Well can you tell all the guys around here to stay away from me" I can tell he's ignoring my comment.

"Anyway, this is Mr Walker, your English teacher. I have told him everything about you so he is going to be watching out for you" Mr White says before they both walk away.

"Oh God, Mr Walker is so hot" Casey giggles.

"Yeah, I think I'm gonna love English class now" Madison says. They all giggle.

The bell rings and we head into class. I walk to the back and sit down at one of the desks in the back row. My friends sit around me.

"So I heard that you were busy over the break. How many guys did you sleep with"Jason comes up to me and asks.

"Why would you care. Just jealous you weren't one of them" I say sarcastically as I look up at him.

"Ohhhh, so its true"

"Fuck off Jason"

"Calm the fuck down" He says before he walks away. I pull out my phone and start scrolling through instagram.

"Did you really sleep with a lot of guys over the break" Casey asks with a smile spread across her face.

"Come on Casey. You know I have never slept with anyone, why would I start over the break"

"Are you going to Jason's party tonight" Madison asks.

"Sorry, I can't. It's a school night"

"Since when have you cared about school" She asks as I put my phone away.

"I don't but my Uncle won't let me go" 

"Then just sneak out. Everyone is going to this party. Jason throws this party every year to celebrate back to school. It is not a party you want to miss. Even Harper is going" Casey says. I know full well that if Uncle Jake caught me sneaking out, I will have a few bruises tomorrow. It's not worth it.

"Sorry, I can't but you guys go and have fun" I say as I see Nicolas stand up the front in front of everyone.

"Hello, I am Mr Walker. I am your new English teacher. Enough of introductions, let's go over this semester plan" He starts and I just stare at him. It was pretty dark in the bar and in his car, I didn't really notice his good looks last night but I do now.

I can hear him talking but I just keep staring at him, obviously not in a very obvious way and he occasionally looks over at me.

All of a sudden the bell rang for morning tea and the class was packing their stuff up. That probably was the quickest 1 hour and 40 minutes I have ever had in school. Did he give us any work to do? If he did, I didn't do it. I pack my stuff up as my friends waited for me.

I walk to the front of the class trying to not make any eye contact.

"Ms Taylor, can I please have a word with you" He says and I look at him.

"Sure. I will meet you guys in the cafeteria" I say to my friends and walk out of the room. He walks over and shuts the door behind them.

"Now, last night, I just figured that you were older than 21 considering you were sitting at a bar drinking a rum and coke" I can't sense what tone he is in.

"I rarely ever go to a bar and drink alcohol, just yesterday was a hard day for me"

"Yeah, you said that last night. I just wanted to apologise for hitting on you. I'm the one that went after you. Just obviously nothing can happen between us"

"Yeah, of course. I didn't get a chance to put your number in so I will throw it out when I get home"

"It's alright, if you have any problems, I don't mind if you call me.... I mean school related"

"Well I suck at English but need good grades so I might be calling you a lot. I'll see you around Mr Walker" I smile and open the classroom door and walk out.

I walk to my locker and put my things inside. I walk off towards the cafeteria and I get stopped by Ben before I walk in.

"Hey Addi"

"Ben, what did I tell you about speaking to me at school" I grab his arm and pull him aside.

"I know but Uncle Jake sent me a text. He said that you have to cook dinner tonight, he's going out of town"

"What, he can't go out of town. If Michelle drops in and he's not there, we could go back into foster care" I whisper to him.

"I have to go, please don't fight with him over this. Also I'm going to be staying over at a friends place"

"Ben" I yell as he runs away from me. I walk into the cafeteria, I find my friends and sit with them.

"So what did the hot teacher want" Madison asks.

"You heard the conversation with Principal White, he's just looking out for me. He told me to go to him if I had any problems"

"I wish he would offer that to me" Casey pouts.

"I will be able to go to the party tonight, my Uncle is out of town"

"Yay, we will pick you up at 7. It's like an hour out of town" Casey says all excited.

"Sounds good" I laugh.

"Aren't you eating anything" Harper asks.

"I'm not hungry"

We continued gossiping the rest of morning tea until it was over. We got up and continued the rest of the day with boring classes. I was pretty much on my phone for most of them.

School was now over, I had a party to look forward too. I wasn't much for a party girl but everyone loves me when I am.

I waited out the front for Ben and we started walking home.

"I have that new English teacher as my teacher this year. He's actually not too bad. He asked if you were my sister"

"Yeah, I have him too"

"So are you staying home tonight"

"No, I'm going out with friends"

"You know Uncle Jake won't like that"

"How would he know?" I ask as we continue to walk home.
