Going into this date, I had no idea what to expect. I thought Natalie was so beautiful. From what Rowan said, it seemed like we would be a good match. Asking her out was the most nerve-wracking thing I had done in a long time.
I asked her out on Saturday at the end of the conference and texted her on Sunday to confirm a day, time, and place. We decided tomorrow, after she was done with classes at 5:30, worked for both of us. Of course, neither of us realized that Monday was Valentine's Day until we were together.
I didn't think I could be more nervous until I was driving up for the date. I wanted nothing more than for this to go well. Thankfully, everything went great, and I even got to kiss her. Our second date was a week later at the local outlet mall. It was freezing cold. We parked our cars and got out. I wasn't entirely sure what would happen here. Would it be an awkward hug? Would we kiss?
The latter was a yes. The former was kind of true. We hugged, but it was not awkward. It was tight, as if we hadn't seen each other in forever. It was time to shop. First, we stopped by a Banana Republic where I bought myself a dark denim jacket.
"You buy clothes for yourself?" Natalie asked.
"Yeah."
My guess was that she was under the impression that most guys don't care about how they looked. I kind of did. If I saw something I thought would look good, I'd try it on and buy it if it did. I typically only shopped if I needed a new article of clothing. Today I shopped because I was on a date.
We also stopped by the Purple Grid mattress store, which was how we determined that we wanted one someday.
Alas, the date came to a close.
Our third date was a couple days later to play billiards and walk around downtown near Natalie's campus. She wore tight jeans and a leather jacket, and she looked really hot.
I spent the next week on a school trip Disney World, where I bought her a Funko Pop of Mickey Mouse.
We saw each other one more time before she left with her family for a spring break trip to Las Vegas.
While she was gone, I moved into a home really close to my old apartment. She wanted to come down and visit and see the new place when she got back.
The two of us, alone, in my new house?! Were we going to fuck? Goddammit that made me nervous. The last time I had sex was the summer in 2020. That girl was pretty cool, but something told me she that deep down she was crazy.
Natalie texted me the entire time she was in Vegas about what she was doing. One night, her mother bought weed gummies, and Natalie took one. She texted me that she was super high.
"I was playing blackjack and it hit me. Everything was funny. It's not fun," she texted. I kind of wish we had FaceTimed, because she was probably super adorable while she was high.
It was at one point while we texted when I called her 'love' for the first time. I had been in love with her since we met, and this entire time I wondered if she really liked me or not. I was going to tell her on Friday when she came over.
Natalie and her family flew home on Thursday and they got home late. She was coming over tomorrow after running by her apartment to dump her luggage. She texted me that she was on her way.
First of all, I could not wear what I usually wore at home. Typically when I was home, I wore old pairs of athletic shorts without underwear. Often times I wouldn't wear a shirt. I actually put on underwear and a shirt. Second, I needed to prepare in the event we had sex. I ordered condoms off Amazon along with lube. I grabbed an old circular tupperware container and dumped everything in there. My bed was a metal frame I stole from my college apartment, and it sat very high off the ground. Underneath were a lot of plastic containers of clothes. I set the sex bucket on top of one of the containers and hid it with my sheets and blankets.
