Adela knew there was something going on with Luke. After Percy and mainly her, mentioned his father he walked away.

She was definitely missing something, and he wasn't going to tell her. But she respected his privacy. If Luke wanted to tell her something, he would.

Especially if it's about his father.

Adela knows he's not Hermes biggest fan. Not even close. Luke basically despises him.

But for a reason she didn't understand.

She actually liked her father. Apollo was once of the nicer gods that actually cared about their children, and she didn't take it for granted.

The next day Adela was in her cabin taking with her sister. The first time they talked after the attack. She pulled the girl into a hug and they sat down and talked on her bed.

"How have you been after the attack?" Ophelia asked. Adela sadly smiled. "I've been fine. The marks from the hellhound are gone. How about you?" She asked back.

"On edge but Luke came in and made sure we were all safe. He came over by me and held my hand as he calmed me down. He's a nice guy." She said.

Adela smiled at her words. "That was sweet of him." She said and Ophelia nodded. "Yeah, I'm glad you have him. I hope one day I find someone like him." She said.

"You will one day. They're out there. You're still young." Adela said. "But what's the plan for today?" She asked her.

Ophelia shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know. I think I'm going to hang out with Kayla and Drew today." She told her.

"That sounds nice."

"What about you?" She asked her back.

"Um, I think I'm going to practice my archery but not at the range. I'm going to into the woods." She said. Ophelia nodded. "I won't say anything." She said, standing up.

"Hey, you're not wearing your necklace today." She said. Adela moved her hand to wear her necklace would be, but it wasn't.

Adela smiled at the girl. "Yeah, I just wanted to keep it safe." She lied. "Okay, see you later." Ophelia smiled and walked out of the cabin.

She changed into her black jeans and kept her camp shirt on. She put her hair into a high ponytail and left her cabin.

She went to the weapons room and grabbed a bow and a few arrows. She walked past all the cabins and started walking into the woods.

Adela was far enough from everyone and she started practicing. After about an hour she grew tired. Adela was about to leave but she heard the sound on twigs snapping.

Alarmed she loaded her bow and held it up. She cautiously moved towards the sound. She looked to see the leaves moving and she let go.

She loaded another and held it up. The object moved forward and she could see it.

Luke held the arrow in his hand. He looked up from it to her face. "Are you trying to kill me?" He asked. She angrily sighed and put it down.

"Why are you sneaking around the middle of the woods?" She asked back. He walked towards her and put out the arrow to her. The point was facing her but at the last second he turned it.

She grabbed it from him. "I wasn't. Your sister told me you were out here." He said. "Of course she did." Adela said.

"Why are you out here anyways?"

"I wanted to practice, away from everyone. I needed time to think." She replied. "About?" Luke asked her. "Stuff."

She started walking away from him and he followed her. "What kind of stuff?" He asked. "It doesn't matter. I just wanted time to myself." She said and he nodded his head.

Luke didn't want to question her anymore. He didn't want to get on her bad side, especially not before the plan.

He wanted her on his side and he was getting closer to it but it wasn't the right time to tell her.

They continued walking and after a few minutes they got back to the cabins. "Have you seen my necklace, Luke?" She asked, looking at him.

He shook his head. "I haven't. Last time I saw you had it was before the attack." He said. "Why, do you not have it?" He asked her.

"I don't know. I might have lost it during it." Adela said. He smiled at her. "Don't worry, we'll find it." He reassured her.

"Are you going to eat with us?" He asked her. She shook her head. "I'm okay, I don't feel like eating." She said.

He stopped walking and stood in front of her. "You haven't eaten since yesterday." He said, running his hand through her hair. "I know, I'll eat with you guys tomorrow." She said.

He handed her a bottle of water. "At least drink this to hydrate if you're not going to eat." He said and she took it.

He kissed her head. "I have to train with Chris, I'll see you later." Luke said. "Have fun." She said, he kissed her check and left.

Adela changed her clothes and climbed into her bed. She drank the water before falling asleep.

Authors note:

We love a boyfriend who thinks
about the little things, like making
sure we're hydrated.

I've never had one so idk. 🤷‍♀️
