Book 1 in 'Let The Light In' series
I don't...
Percy, grabbed onto the girls hand as she laid bleeding out. He gathered enough strength to pull her up and lean her body against the pillar.
"I really thought you'd be on my side, Adela." Luke said, looking down at her.
"I...will...never...join... you." Adela said in between each breath, her hand applying pressure to the entree wound. "Either way, we still have bigger plans for you." He said.
Adela shook her head and laughed. "Not if I die before then. You see, I know something you don't." She said.
Luke took a step closer to them. "And what's that?" He asked.
She looked up at him with a smile on her face. "The great prophecy." She said and Luke's face dropped. "That's not true." He said.
"I am the daughter of Apollo. Daughter of prophecies. I know everything." She said, gathering her strength to stand up.
Leaning her body on the pillar for support.
"But that doesn't matter. The prophecy would be told months, if not years from now. It wouldn't change anything that I know." Adela said.
"Your dad knows it too." She said and Luke looked at her with anger in his eyes.
She removed her hand from her stomach and held it up and showed it to Luke.
Her hand, reddened with blood.
"Go ahead. Kill me, show Kronos who you really are but Percy lives. That's all I ask of you. If you ever loved me, you'll spare his life." She said.
Adela set her hand down and slowly reached behind her back, lifting her shirt, and pulling out a knife. She slowly moved it to her side.
"No." He said, lifting up his sword ready to strike. A knife flew at him and he dodged it with his sword. He looked over to the side.
Percy and Adela followed his gaze.
There, Annabeth was seen taking off her cap. She reached to her side and grabbed her sword and aimed it at Luke.
Adela smiled and looked back at him.
"Annabeth." He breathed out, tears in his eyes.
"I heard everything." She said.
Luke didn't know what to say to her. He couldn't say anything, no words would come out.
His little sister saw everything he had done.
He knew nothing he would say would help him out in this situation.
She wasn't the same little girl in the alley.
He doesn't have him mom, his dad, Annabeth, Adela. He had no one at this moment. No one to be by his side.
The others were at camp.
He was alone.
He looked at all of them. Adela put her knife back in her holster. A bigger fight didn't need to happen now.
Luke ran a few steps forward and grabbed Adela as he was running for the portal.
All Adela heard were the shouts of her name from Percy and Annabeth before she heard nothing.
Percy and Annabeth ran out of the woods and ran straight to Chiron and told him everything.
About Luke, his plans, Kronos...
Adela.
Percy felt guilty that he couldn't protect her.
Not from getting stabbed and not from getting kidnapped by Luke. He had no idea where they are. Not a plan to get her back.
But Adela was strong. She wouldn't have to been on her own for now. Only until Percy comes back to camp and they strategize how to get her.
The one thing Annabeth dreaded was telling Ophelia about what happened to her sister.
When she did Ophelia broke down crying and Annabeth tried her best to comfort the girl.
Chiron told her not to give too many details to anyone about what had just happened. Not yet.
Because if everyone knew about Luke and what he and the others were planning, camp would have an uprising.
People would take sides again and they didn't want that to happen. Not like it did with Poseidon and Zeus.
One day they would rescue Adela.
Even if it meant facing Luke again.
And Percy would be ready.

But if for some fucked reason we don't get season 2. The next fic will follow the 'Sea Of Monsters' book because I want to continue writing Adela's character and story.
Adela will return in book 2.
