Lifting my head from the pillow the next day was a unique form of torture. I wasn't sure I'd ever been this hungover in my entire life, and apparently, I wasn't the only one, because I awoke to Azriel banging around clumsily in the kitchen. He had his eyes squinted and he looked like hell.
"Rough night, I take it," Morrigan arched a brow. I jumped back slightly; having had no clue she was even over.
"No shit," I winced, hating the blaring of the overhead lighting.
"You likely drank enough to kill a horse," Morrigan chuckled.
"More," Azriel grumbled.
Azriel bumbled around with a pan, hissing when he dropped it and echoed a loud clang through the entire room. I covered my ears, wanting to crawl in a hole and die. This was punishment enough for my unsavory behavior as of late.
Cassian came through moments later, a wide yawn stretching his cheeks.
"Oh, for fuck's sake," Morrigan growled, standing up and walking over to the stove to yank the pan from Azriel's hand. "Just let me do it. Go sit."
Listening as though she'd been talking to me, I obliged and plopped down on the couch, glad that the living room was the tiniest bit less bright. Az and Cass followed suit, taking up the cushions on either side of me.
"I'm never drinking again," Azriel grumbled, pressing his face into a pillow.
"What did we even do last night?" I asked them.
"Beats the hell out of me," Azriel replied.
Cassian chuckled.
"You two dickheads were so drunk I had to tuck you in," he said.
"Sweet boy," I mocked. "Taking care of us."
"Yeah! Exactly! Because I'm the mature one," Cass said.
"That's laughable," Azriel contradicted.
"It's obviously me," I said, knowing it would get Az riled up.
"Are you stupid?" He asked.
"Do I even have to tell you how ironic it is that you three are arguing over who's most mature like 5 year olds while I have to cook you breakfast because you're too hungover to function properly?" Morrigan added in from the kitchen.
"Buzzkill," I mumbled under my breath.
"Love you, Mor!" I shouted at her. Azriel snorted.
Morrigan finished cooking us an incredibly carb-loaded and greasy breakfast that revived me from the depths of the Cauldron. We ate in total, swollen-eyed silence as she watched us with judgmental eyes.
