Prompt: Enid and Wednesday head to the trampoline park.
CGWednesday/LittleEnid
Little age: fiveShoving the final item in her purse, Wednesday swung it over her shoulder, glancing over at her little, who waited all but patiently at the door, her hands gripping the bottom of her romper in irritation.
"Okay, you ready to go?"
"Yes!" Enid yelled, having already done up the Velcro straps on her shoes, and even had them on the right feet.
Wednesday took her hands as they walked through the Nevermore parking lot, finding their Toyota parked in its usual spot. Though the exterior was a wonderful matte black, the backseat where Enid usually sat was covered in stickers, crayons and a mystery glue stick.
"Do you need help buckling up?"
"No!" Enid hopped in, grabbing the seatbelt and buckling herself in. Though she tended to hang around older headspaces (compared to Eugene at least), three year olds couldn't do things this advanced, and therefore her mother was not used to it.
Getting in the front, the engine roared to life and she started towards the large town a little further then Jericho.
"Are we there yettttt?!" Enid whined, kicking her feet against the front seat. Her phone, that had been playing some unboxing video earlier, now lay next to her on the seat, abandoned of interest.
"Almost, ten more minutes."
"That's agessss!"
It was not, though she didn't make a comment back, instead just focusing on the road in front of her. The same question was asked again at eight minutes, at five, and a final time at two before they managed to make it to the trampoline park, the large metal building looming in front of them.
"Here we are." Wednesday took her bag out from the back, letting Enid get out herself and run ahead, only being stopped by the ticket booth, where she was forced to wait an agonizing thirty whole seconds before her mother came over and paid for both their tickets.
Enid gasped with delight the moment they stepped in, not having realised that this place would have slides. She rushed over, running to the top before sliding down in a play drunk tizzy. "Mama look at me!"
"You are doing very good dear," she hummed the words, taking out her cross-stitching and continuing the bird she was currently making.
Eventually, Enid had made at least five new friends, all of whom were playing a very intense game of dodgeball, while some of their caregivers (meaning all except Wednesday) watched with a rather worried look.
Only one person did end up getting hurt, though that was because she tripped on her skirt and was up again within seconds, disregarding her worried-looking Dada and continuing the play.
"I'm hungry," Enid huffed, sitting down next to Wednesday in a sweaty mess. "Did you bring foods?"
Taking her bag, she pulled out a gogo squeeze, passing it to the girl who held out her hands for it. "Eat it here, I don't want you choking because you jumped and it went down the wrong tube."
Though she looked disappointed, Enid ate her applesauce in silence, taking the time to admire the bird that was coming to life on the fabric. "Can we put that on my jeans that have the hole in them?" She asked once finished.
"This one's for your sweater, I didn't know you had jeans with holes in them. Do you want me to make more for them?"
"Mhm! Can you make...flowers?"
"Of course." Flowers were pretty simple. If she finished this bird, perhaps she could start one.
"And they need to be pink," Enid called over her shoulder, already rushing over to the play area again to meet up with a girl whose name was either Kate or Fate, something Wednesday never did find out.
"We should play house!" Enid said, her eyes shining at the idea. "You can be the Mommy, and I will be the baby!"
"Okay!" The girl, whose name was Fate may I add, placed her hand on Enid, guiding her to the ground. "Do you want some milk, baby?" Fate asked, pretending to shake a bottle.
"Dah!" Enid added a little lisp to her voice, crawling along the lines between trampolines as her apparent mother walked to the 'microwave', and placed the bottle in.
"This is what my Daddy always does when he makes me a bottle," she pointed out, pretending to check the milk temperature on her wrists. "Too hot still!"
Enid let out a long line of upset babbles, just loud enough to catch her caregiver's attention. If Enid didn't fake being little offen to avoid school, she wouldn't have caught on to the way the tone was a bit off, but she did, realising it was just play as she went back to her needle and thread.
"Don't worry, it will be ready soon, you just need to...jump on the trampoline three times while crawling!"
This was a mundane task, and Enid completed it with little effort, crawling back over to her waiting bottle. In the time she had been jumping, Fate had grabbed the foam block that would now pose as the bottle.
"Here, come lay your head on my lap," she giggled, pretending to press the bottle to her lips. "There you go!"
Enid wasn't quite sure what babies were supposed to do with bottles. She normally drank from sippies or just water glasses.
"You need to pretend to suck on it!"
That made more sense. She pretended to suck something, then roll aside, blabbing what she hoped sounded like 'all done'.
Just as Fate was about to do something to keep the play session going, someone crouched in front of them. "Time to head home, Enid."
"No! Five more minutes?" Enid bagged, sending her Mama the cutest puppy dog eyes she could muster, though she got no reaction.
"Auntie Yoko and Auntie Divina are making dinner for us, we can't be late for them now, can we? Besides, I'm sure Eugene and Xavier are going to want to play with you!"
"But..." She sighed. She did like playing here, but she didn't get to play with Xavier much since when he did drop, it tended to be a very small headspace and Bianca would just bounce him around on her legs while the others ran (or crawled in Eugene's case) around. Hopefully, he would be older today so he could join them. "Okayyyy."
"Bye bye Enid!" Fate called, getting a wave and smile back.
"Ready to go play?"
"YEAH!"
