Lycans....the horrifying hybrids of man and wolf stalked the outskirts of the village. These Lycans maintained their human form though their skin, hair, nails and teeth were altered. Skin was grey like ashes, hair long and mangy from any part of their body. The teeth and nails were pointed and sharp as knives, jaw strength enhanced to were a single bite from them could break bones. They wore loose clothing, old enough it blended in with their skin. But unlike the mindless beasts they were named after these Lycans maintained a form of intelligence as they were able to use wooden clubs or pickaxes as well as bows as weaponry to maintain there safety, some have even been spotted riding horses. Other sightings have indicated some can be more in tune with their wolfish nature, being as big as a bear and hit twice as hard.

These lycans served Mother Miranda and the four lords of the region, "protecting" the people from the dangers of the outside world. No one in the village knew how the lycans came to be or how they even reproduce, anyone alive anyways. They appeared not to long after Mother Miranda appeared on the land, and that was nearly two centuries ago. Though they may protect the villagers and the land which they inhabit, Lycans have been known to steal children from their homes or even massacre a poor fool who was left outside in the dark. 'Tribute for your protectors.' One of the many bibles of Mother Miranda had written down. Any who dared attack or defy the lycans their due would soon disappear off the village, months later would the villagers find pieces of the defier strung across the village itself. Lycans were also known to hold grudges and sometimes they would stalk the person's house at night, scratching on the walls and windows to make the villager shake in fear throughout the night, when the villager would wake up the next morning he would soon find his livestock slaughtered before him. The villager would go about asking for help or spare food but the other villagers would be to terrified to interfere. The villager would then be stalked by the lycans for months, toying with the villager's sanity and fear till he died from said fear or starvation. Rarely would the Lycans cause so much chaos would Mother Miranda have to interfere.

This was one of those rare moments.

A small group of Lycans crawled through the forest underneath the moonlight. They walked with their backs hunched over, a natural state one could see the Lycans in. The snow crunched under their bare feet and hands as they traveled, clubs in their hands. This group contained at the most fifteen lycans, small in comparison to the endless amount that spawned. Mother Miranda had ordered them to withhold from eating the villagers till a month has passed, leaving them to scurry around finding wildlife to feast upon. They could feast upon one another, having done so before in the past but the taste wasn't as pleasant as a human.

One of them growled in displeasure as it looked around the dark forest, there was nothing here to eat. Birds were to small and barley counted as a snack. The same Lycan looked at it's brother that traveled in front of it, the beast licking it's lips as it debated on attacking but decided against it. All of the lycan's attention turned to a sudden movement in the corner of their eye. One wearing an old black jacket pounced towards the sound, baring it's fangs as it landed on the spot and bit down, an unholy scream coming from the spot. The Lycan turned around and showed a white rabbit hanging from it's mouth as it's own blood stained the creatures white fur. It was still alive as well, frantically moving it's legs as if to push off the Lycan. The rest of the small pack growled and leapt towards their brother, one of the lycans grabbed a leg of the rabbit and ripped it clean off before retreating away into the dark forest away from it's brothers. The Lycan who had caught the rabbit growled and pulled it's prey away from the others, the rabbit still trying to escape as the other lycans jumped forward and fought over the rabbit, tackling their brother down as they fought tooth and nail for the wounded animal. The pile of lycans soon went rolling down the hill, younger ones crawling after the others as they watched in entertainment from the fight.
