"H-hi Codrin......"

Codrin brought his axe down upon a log of wood, cleaving it in two with the old axe before he turned around and looked towards the newcomer. A young woman, couple years his junior, stood behind the corner of one of the many barns, slowly walking out from behind the corner. She had olive skin, a rare trait among the many villagers. Her hair was pulled back into a simple ponytail with two bangs hanging of the sides of her head. Two brown eyes stared into his with uncertainty. She wore thick sweater over her dress which reached down to her ankles, a piece of cloth was wrapped over her shoulders and tied together in front of her collar bone.

"Hello Elena

"Hello Elena." Codrin nodded before he picked up the two pieces of wood and threw them on a pile. He then grabbed another log before positioning it in place before raising his axe and bringing it down. "How can I help you on this lovely day?"

"I....um, noticed you weren't at mass this morning." Elena spoke softly as she walked along the side of the barn before stopping at the corner closest to him. She watched as he repeated his chopping process, his trench coat was placed off to the side, hanging on a nearby hook on the wall, leaving him in his simple shirt with his sleeves rolled up, his muscles exposed to the cold air. "I was......worried that you were sick, but your mother said you were sent on an errand....."

"Yes......a visit to house Beneviento." Codrin spoke as he focused on his work, nearly wincing when his left arm gave out from exhaustion, sleepless nights taking their toll on him. He grunted as he flexed his arm before going back to work, not caring about being watched by the younger woman. "She just needed a letter delivered."

"Oh......okay." Elena nodded to herself as she observed the sweating man as he continued working. The nineteen year old watched as his muscles, while not monstrously big but where decent in size, flexed with every swing. She remained standing there in silence, rarely looking away from the object of her fascination. "F-father said you had wood to deliver to us.....?"

"Yep.....working on it now." Codrin responded as he ran a hand through his brown hair, Elena noticing how clean it was unlike the past month or so. Elena looked over and saw a wheelbarrow already filled with some wood. "And you got some pork to trade for it, yeah?"

"O-of course Codrin.......father has some ready in exchange for the wood." Elena nodded. Trading was another form of currency in the village, everyone had something someone else needed. Elena hesitated to speak as she remained in place. "H-he doesn't say it a lot but father appreciates your.....nightly hobby."

"Figured as much." Codrin sighed as he finished chopping the last piece of wood. He then started grabbing the chopped wood and began staking it against the outside of his house till it reached the rim of his roof. The goat, princess, laid against the building as well, happily chewing on some hay. Codrin leaned down and pet the goat before heading towards the wheelbarrow, grabbed the handles and began pushing it out onto the village dirt road. "How is old Leonardo anyway?"
