Watching Charles in the corner of my eye, seeing the look on his face made me somewhat happy. Even though, I was as equally as pissed off as he was. Why did I have to see him? Allow me to have some peace for fuck sake.

He spoke to Alex in a whisper, so he wouldn't be heard. The realisation in Alex's facial expression made it obvious in what Charles had to say.

Victoria looked at me with a smirk.

"Your scaring him." She teased.

I let out a chuckle as we carried on watching the couple. How quickly they had got up and left was hilarious.

How immature.

Me and Victoria burst into laughter, getting some weird looks from around us. We couldn't give a shit.

As we settled down, we discussed what we would like from the French styled menu.

As I wasn't too hungry, I planned on getting a small croissant and a hot chocolate. Victoria had decided similar, a pain au chocolat with a hot chocolate.

Patiently, we waited for our order to be taken. Still talking about Charles' immaturity.

"I've heard Alex is a really sweet girl as well, she deserves so much better." Victoria spoke as if she new what Charles was like as a partner.

"Surely he can't be that bad." The look on my face showed that I was joking.

We both let out a small chuckle in unison. Just as a waitress walked over with a smile.

"Morning, may I take your order?" She beamed.

"Can we please have two hot chocolates, a small croissant and a pain au chocolat?" Victoria ordered for the both of us.

"Is that all for you guys today?" The waitress asked.

"Yep, thank you." I smiled.

Just as the waiter walked away, Victoria disrupted the silence.

"So, how are you feeling about f1 so far?" Victoria questioned, already knowing my answer.

"Fucking great." I answered without hesitation. "Although, I'm not sure I'll have the same opinion this time next week."

"I'm sure you will." Victoria assured me as she let out a light chuckle.

"Sorry to interrupt, but I've got your hot chocolates." The waitress politely disrupted our conversation.

"Oh yes, thank you!" Victoria smiled.

"Your pastries will just be a moment, I'll be right back." The waitress informed us.

Just as the waiter spun on her heel and walked away, I took a sip out of the hot chocolate, making my tongue burn.

Victoria looked at me with a slight smirk, I returned with a look of confusion. She pointed to her mouth giving me the hint that I had something around that area.

As soon as I realised, I grabbed a tissue and wiped down my mouth. Covering my face in embarrassment, at the same time the waitress was walking over with our pastries.

"Alright guys, here are your pastries. Sorry for the wait, I hope you enjoy!" She gave us a big grin as she put down our plates.

"Thank you." Me and Victoria spoke in unison.

We carried on with our random conversations, weaving in and out of racing. I wanted to get the subject away from me, so I asked how Victoria was doing with work.

She just recently got out of university and is starting to get into architecture, I've been trying my best to support her.

We both grew up in fairly wealthy households and are both equally as grateful for what our childhood was. Although, the first time we met was during our teenage years,

"Hold on, I'll be back in a few minutes." I let Victoria know as I stood up from the table.

"Excuse me, can I get the bill please?" I requested to the waitress that had been serving us, Victoria oblivious that I had snuck off to pay.

"Yes, of course! Just give me a minute and I'll be right with you." She replied with a sweet smile yet again.

"Thank you, I'll just wait here." I informed her.

Looking behind me, I was still to see Victoria's back facing me. She was too invested in her phone to notice.

"Ok here you go, ma'am." The waitress handed the bill over with a card machine in her grasp.

"Ok, thank you! Have a nice day." I smiled after I handed back the bill.

"You too." She beamed.

Making my way back to Victoria, I tapped her shoulder.

"Let's get going." I spoke while picking up my bag.

"What about the bill?" Victoria looked at me with confusion.

"Already done." I smirked.

"You bitch!" She smacked my arm in annoyance.

After we had left the café, I mentioned to Victoria that I was going to return the hire car that we had hardly used over the weekend.

As we were heading to the airport in less then thirty minutes, Victoria decided to go looking round the shops for a while before we left.

"Alright, I'll see you back here soon." I said to Victoria as we were parting.

"Yep! Drive safe." Victoria shouted as she was already walking in the other direction.

I sat myself in the drivers seat of the hired Honda civic type R, starting the engine.

Slowly, I made my way out onto the street, pulling out into traffic. My playlist was playing loudly, as the traffic slowly moved.

The echoes from other car engines in the city filled the street I was annoyingly stuck in.

I tapped my fingers on the steering wheel and hummed along to the song that was playing loudly in the background.

Finally, I made it to the intersection that was holding everything up. The lights turned green and I slammed on the gas, taking off from the lights.

All of a sudden, a car flew past the obvious red light to the right of me.

Causing us to collide.
