Chapter 11

The look on his face while he laid his eyes on my made my stomach drop, why does he have to be everywhere?

"Sorry, I was given this, it's your stuff from the crash." Charles presence was made obvious as he spoke out, turning Victoria's head.

"Thank you, Charles." Victoria said awkwardly.

My mouth stayed closed as I kept my eyes focused on the end of the hospital bed.

"Are you okay?" Charles spoke as he placed down the box next to the door.

"I'm fine, thanks." I said bluntly.

The silence grew louder as I stayed silent while keeping eye contact with him, as he cracked a smile.

"Right, thank you Charles but can we please have privacy?" Victoria broke out.

"Oh, my apologies. See you later." Charles walked out.

I put my head in my hands, trying to process that god awful experience.

"That was a bit harsh, wasn't it?" Victoria said trying to hide the smirk on her face.

"Just a bit," I giggled "give him a break he was trying to do something good, for once."

"He's an asshole majority of the time anyways." Victoria laughed.

I shut the door after I walked out, letting out a sigh.

"Well, that was awkward." I muttered under my breathe.

I reclaimed my position against the wall, the same place I had been minutes before.

My gaze rested at the hard floor beneath my feet for god knows how long, the muffle of voices from the room I had just departed from got louder as my attention landed back to where it belonged.

The voices suddenly became fully understandable.

"He's a dick, one 'nice' thing does not mean he's a pleasant person."

I carried on listening to the conversation they were deep into.

Every sentence felt like it was being shouted down my ears with a megaphone.

They were talking shit about me, clueless of my presence.
