______I watched the ambulance lights get further and further away as I stood in the same place, just staring blankly.
"Charles?" Alex's voice to the left of me snapped me out of my gaze. "Are you okay?"
"Yep, I'm fine. Just a bit shaken up." I assured her as I grabbed hold of her hand.
We started making our way back to the abandoned Ferrari until we heard a man shout out to us.
"Excuse me, did you know that woman?" He spoke to us with an accent.
"Yes, yes I do. Why?" I questioned him with a confused expression.
"We found a few valuable items in her car, would you manage to return these?" He requested.
"Of course, thank you sir." I smiled.
We continued our venture to the car, now with the small cardboard box. The shimmer of a ring that she always wore glistened in the sun that was about to set.
Unlocking the car, I handed the box to Alexandra to rest on her lap while we drove.
I drove off in the direction of the hospital, trying to avoid looking at the aftermath of the accident.
Throughout the car ride little conversation in was exchanged, making it mostly silent - probably due to the same reason.
The sun slowly disappeared underneath the horizon as we turned through different streets.
I tapped my hands on the steering wheel along to the music on the radio that was the only thing that was filling up the silence of the car.
The hospital got closer and closer, making my heart hurt. Although me and Natasha aren't really on 'good terms', the worry I was feeling wasn't healthy.
My breathing got heavier as we turned into the hospital parking lot, trying to find the nearest spot to park.
The car came to a stop, I quickly unlocked the door and made my way to the entrance with Alex and the box by my side.
The see-through entry doors parted as we took our first steps in the cold hospital building. My pace quickened towards the front desk, catching the attention of the middle aged woman that looked like she couldn't give two fucks about your concerns or requests.
"Excuse me, what room is Natasha Horner in?"
My voice breathless as I rested my forearms on the ledge of the counter."Room F19 but you will have to wait in here due to her treatments." The woman spoke with a dull tone.
"Thanks." I scowled bitterly at her carelessness.
Fed up, I slouched down on the waiting room chair - my leg bouncing up and down with concern.
Overthinking every little thing that had happened between me and Natasha in the last few days made me rethink my decision of being sat here with so much empathy.
The silence in the waiting room was obnoxiously loud, being disrupted with a cough every few minutes. Clock ticking was the only thing filling up the empty silence filling the room.
Time felt endless, making me feel uneasy. Alexandra's eyes locked with mine, making me crack a small loving smile as we continued our gaze.
Christian walked through the doors, making me look up from the floor I was admiring. His forehead shined with sweat, his skin was pale obviously showing his worries.
I stood up from the thinly padded chair, walking in his direction.
I caught his attention as he made his way to the front desk, quickening my pace. Looking at him with soft eyes.
"Charles, what happened?! Is she okay?" Christian spoke with worry.
"They won't let me in to go see her, so I'm not sure." I grabbed his shoulders as I spoke to him.
"Fucks sake, how did the accident happen?" He questioned.
"Some idiot ran a red light, speeding." I informed him regretfully.
He never spoke another word, just stared blankly at the floor before he silently walked to sit himself down.
You could tell he was worried, really worried.
Although Christian is a team principal, he is also Natasha's father. She is the main priority here, not racing.
"You may visit Ms. Horner now." The woman abruptly spoke out, making me jump.
Instantly, I jumped up out of my seat making my way to the room she was resting in - alongside Christian.
We arrived at the room. F19, her racing number.
I allowed Christian to go in before me, to let them have there privacy. I stood silently with the box in my hand, tapping the floor with my foot.
I felt as if I secluded in the tight, thin corridor I stood in, alone. Alexandra decided to stay in the waiting room, allowing me to return the items alone.
Time passed on, very few people walked through the corridors. I felt like I was in some sort of weird dream.
A male doctor wandered through the corridor towards me, making me feel even more uneasy. His smile gave me the chills, although I knew he was completely normal.
He brushed pasted me, giving me a quick 'Hello' as he opened the door to the room, that was dimly lit.
I only got a glance of Victoria that was stood at the end of her hospital bed.
The door loudly shut, leaving me in the uncanny corridor. My gaze met the floor as my mind was washed by thoughts.
After a while, the doctor exited the room. Walking back in the direction he came from.
'What the fuck is going on?' I thought to myself, but I knew I was just being paranoid.
I stood blandly in the same position for a few minutes before I built up the courage to open the plain door.
I hesitated and couldn't bring myself to move any further.
I threw myself back against the wall, pulling out my phone to pass time
The click of the door opening made me shiver, as Christian walked out with sad eyes.
Little interaction was exchanged between us while he walked by. His face immediately made me frightened at the state she could of been in.
This time, with little hesitation I clicked open the door. The room came into focus as I called out to make sure it was appropriate for me to enter.
"Hello?" I spoke.
