A/N: This chapter ends with a cliffhanger!

"By the way," Megumi closed his eyes, his patience on a silky thread. He slowly but unwillingly made eye contact with Yuuji again. Yuuji was looking at him sheepishly, "what's your name again?"

He's so annoying, Megumi thought.

"It's Megumi."

—----

Megumi sighed and stretched his neck in rotating motions as he put the key in the lock to his room, mentally reviewing his first day in med school.

He had unwillingly made acquaintance with a guy named Yuuji (meh), visited two med classes after that (alright) and already has to take care of many study-related things before the first week would end (doable).

Right now, though, he was glad to be able to take a little rest before he'd take on the tasks. Luckily, no med student had boldly tried to make friends with him the same way as—

Megumi opened the door, and stopped mid-way, hand still on the handle, being met with a sight – a person – he had had wanted to forget as soon as possible.

Yuuji.

That very person Yuuji Itadori, the one he'd met in the morning, was busy taking out clothes from his suitcase.

Megumi wished for a blizzard to freeze him to a block of ice. No, wait. A hole opening and swallowing him whole because he didn't want to be visible to this guy.

Yuuji eventually noticed him. His facial expression stretched with glee, a broad smile occupying half of his face.

"Megumi!"

Oh. my. fucking. god. Megumi was still staring at Yuuji, silently, mouth agape.

Yuuji hopped to Megumi's side, hands folded together, fingers intertwined, his smile radiant. "We're roommates? We're roommates, Megumi! Didn't know it was you who'd share a room with me!"

Megumi's inner self lamented. I didn't know either that it would be you... what the hell!

"Why are you moving in now?" was all Megumi could think of—not hiding reproach.

Yuuji was confused. "Because... uni... has started...?"

"No, why didn't you move in last week? During orientation week."

Yuuji shrugged. "I skipped orientation week. Well, most of it."

Great. A slacker . Sharing a room. With me.

Yuuji went on cluelessly. "Also, my home is not that far away. So I packed my stuff today and came here. But I kinda was in a hurry, so I need to go back and grab some essentials that I forgot."

I don't care...

Megumi felt the growing mental exhaustion battling against his physical strain that had been prevalent since an hour ago.

He couldn't deal with this right now. Numbly he closed the door, dropped his bag and took off his shoes.

Megumi walked past him. Yuuji watched him, still overjoyed, putting one of his shirts on a hanger. "The two of us. This is a blessing, Megumi!"

Megumi's mental exhaustion had won.

It's rather a curse...

He dropped down onto his bed, laying on his side and deliberately facing the wall instead of the other half of the room.
