Chapter 11: Weekend Trip (Part 1)

A/N: I edited the note at the beginning of the first chapter, but for those of you who were reading my WIP for a while now, here is the abridged version:

I got the whole plot planned out now. I know how it's gonna end, I know what every future chapter is going to be about. I'm excited to show you the rest of the story!!

There will be angst, there will be drama, there will be hope & despair and so on.

Let's see how the Itafushi journey unfolds, right? :)

Now a few words to this chapter:

Nobara "labels" Yuuji as gay here, but Yuuji's sexuality is actually (and will stay) undisclosed in the story! He said once that he isn't very attached to one or a certain gender and that's what is there to it!

The weekend trip is split into two parts because the first past covers Fri/Sat and the second part covers Sunday.

Chapter summary: Megumi and Yuuji are officially dating.

Megumi, however, is following his own plans.

"Would you like to date me, Megumi?" Yuuji was watching Megumi for a while. He had finally found the courage to keep his eyes on his roommate and wait for an answer with balled anticipation in his gaze. "Fine for you? Okay?"

This is bad.

I had sex with your adoptive father, Yuuji!

"Okay."

This is so bad!

"Let's go treasure hunting!!!" Nobara cheered, overjoyed, a hand on her hip and the other pointing at the afternoon sun.

"Yaaaaay!" Yuuji joined her with at least as much enthusiasm.

Megumi watched them from afar, frowning at those two posing figures in front of him. Yeah. He had no energy left to join them. Not that he would have done that in the first place.

It actually took him by slight surprise how Yuuji had bounced back to his usual self so quickly. A few hours ago he had whined to Megumi because he was sure that he had failed all of his midterm exams. Initially, Yuuji hadn't wanted to go on this trip, but then he dragged himself (and Megumi) to participate in it because he needed that kind of distraction.

Today was Friday and everyone in the friends group, Yuuji and Megumi included, had finished writing their last midterm exam. It had been the first time for Megumi to go through two weeks of midterms and only now did he realize how greatly he had suffered from it. The exhaustion was thinning his body out like slices of his skin being peeled off while his sensation of pain was active and working.

Those two weeks had truly been hell.

Nobara must have expected a similar experience for herself because (Yuuji had told him so earlier) she had found a place where all of them could rest for a while after midterm exams. That place was a hostel deep in the woods that promoted their very own treasure hunt for fun time activities. Usually, it was something families could participate in while staying over at the place, but since the owners of the hostel had been in dire need for new visitors in the long-run, they were offering two days (this weekend) where students from schools and universities could stay over there for free. That way, they were hoping for oral promotions going around in schools and universities. A free bus ride to the hostel and back to the dorms, sleeping rooms, breakfast, dinner, and the treasure hunt were included. Students just needed to take care of their own lunch, bedding and clothing.
