A/N: Here it is ... the Gojo chapter ...
Chapter summary: After their nasty fight, Megumi and Yuuji both feel bad.
Yuuji and Gojo have a talk.
----------------
Megumi's soul ... It was longing for something.
For the other soul.
The one that would complete him.
But all he could do was crying, crying, crying.
Megumi's cries wouldn't stop.
---------------
When Megumi woke up the next day, everything felt groggy and scrawny. He didn't remember when he had fallen asleep, but he could tell that he hadn't sleep well or much.
The dried tears on his face gave off a weird feeling on his skin, his facial muscles were tense (as though his body had never stopped wanting to cry), and his head hurt as though the strain from yesterday's crying was reawakened and juvenescent.
Megumi slowly opened his eyes. He was facing the wall. He shifted his gaze to the ceiling. The same bleak whiteness. Facing the other side of his bed, he spotted Yuuji kneeling on the edge of his bed. Yuuji was resting one side of his face on the mattress, his hands folded under his cheek. Megumi saw that Yuuji was awake, his eyes blinking, his breath even, his presence an undisturbing silence.
Megumi was confused. He turned his body, causing for the bed cover and the bedding fabrics to get into motion.
Yuuji noticed that and raised his head instantly — fast.
Every pattern of worry and guilt was setched onto his face, his eyes telling a story of restless sleep and fatigue.
One thing both of them had in common after their fight yesterday.
"Were—" Megumi cleared his throat, his voice croaky, "Were you waiting for me to wake up?"
Megumi's voice held a mixture of late ruefulness and futile hope. He didn't know why he was feeling either of those.
"Kinda, yeah," Yuuji admitted cautiously.
When he stood up from his kneeling position, Megumi figured out right away that Yuuji had been waiting for Megumi to wake up for quite a while.
The way he grunted with pain as he slowly got onto his feet, grabbing his aching knees that had supported the rest of his body weight for too long.
Megumi felt bad.
No matter what, Megumi would always feel so bad. Even now, when Yuuji had willingly decided to wait for him like this, Megumi felt incredibly bad.
Yuuji swallowed hard, once. Trying to stabilize his voice and pick the right words.
"I wanted to tell you that I really didn't know what to call you yesterday. I wasn't holding back a word." Yuuji wasn't looking at Megumi, his eyes restless. He scratched his head. "I would never call you a slur or so."
I know ... I know, Yuuji.
Megumi watched Yuuji silently. There was still no eye contact. Broken pieces. So many broken pieces and yet Megumi was holding onto the belief that looking into each other's eyes could be the beginning of something better.
"Okay."
That was it?
Megumi was struggling.
With everything. Words. Feelings. Confessions.
